Understanding the performance of
Chicago Metallic grids and accessories

Reaction to fire Corrosion resistance
Chicago Metallic steel grids and accessories are non- Chicago Metallic grids are manufactured from high quality
combustible. Products have been tested in independent hot dip galvanised steel with a coloured capping of
laboratories in accordance with EN ISO 1716:2010 and pre-painted hot dip galvanised steel. It resists corrosion
EN ISO 1182:2010. and it can be used in standard humid environments.

Fire resistance Load bearing performance
A range of Chicago Metallic steel grids are tested in The load bearing performance (max. kg/m2 load
accordance with BS 476: Part 23. application to the grid system) is tested based on
ASTM C-635. For any other configurations, contact
Colours Rockfon technical services.
Chicago Metallic grids are available in colours based on
RAL system. Slight differences in colour and brightness
may occur. The differences in colour do not exceed
∆E=1.
