Franklin City Public Schools

Priorities, Performance & Progress
Ms. Tamara Sterling, Superintendent

A Message from the Superintendent

It gives me great pleasure to share with you the FCPS
School Board Goals for Franklin City Public Schools. During
the fall of 2018, the Franklin City School Board selected five
goals that will guide the development of the division's new
strategic plan. The plan is currently in the revision stage and
we invite all stakeholders that would like to be a part of Accel-
erating the Learning For Excellence 2023! Our goal as the
Chair of the Strategic Plan Committee is to hear as many
voices as possible. The Strategic Plan Committees are meet
monthly and location, times and dates will be posted on the
Division’s website. The Strategic Plan Committee will also
conduct Town Hall Meetings at all three schools, launch sur-
veys for our community to participate in, and we will also contact families via phone and
email to capture what you want to see in the plan to support academic excellence for our
students.
This year my personal vision for FCPS is to create a culture of excellence with an un-
wavering commitment to equitable opportunities for every child. The children we serve
are the brightest I have ever known! They are inquisitive, critical thinkers that have a pas-
sion to learn more each day. As educators, we encourage every student we come in con-
tact with to discover their greatness and walk in excellence at all times! TEAM FCPS is
dedicated to implementing our Priorities, examining our Performance and celebrating
our Progress.

In 2018, we received incredible news that all three of our schools are Fully Accredited!
This momentous achievement was obtained because we have the best and the brightest
teaching our students, our School Board has a commitment to serve in the best interest of
the school community and our parents, continued to send us their very best. Now we
have a new journey that we are embarking on and that is to maintain our Fully Accredited
status while implementing programs that will personalize the learning for our students.
Personalizing the learning will supporting developing each student’s unique talent. Not
just academically, but through the arts, STEM, athletics, career development, and post-
secondary education. Franklin City Public Schools is moving in the right direction and
we invite everyone in our community to join us on this wonderful journey as we Acceler-
ate the Learning for Excellence!

Sincerely,

Tamara Sterling, Superintendent
