DISCOVER ISTANBUL BY STEVE MCCURRY

Istanbul is alive with a sense of adventure and utters stories
of history, culture and charm. Steve McCurry is no stranger to
the destination’s enchanting throng, having visited on many
occasions in the past. The famed photographer recently traveled
to Turkey’s cultural heartland with Silversea, to seek the essence
of a truly captivating subject. Rekindling his passion for Istanbul,
his senses were dazzled by the colorful vibrancy of this special
place and his creativity stimulated.

A physical and spiritual nexus between East and West, Istanbul
is quite unique in its character. McCurry found inspiration in the
flurry of the Grand Bazaar, the majesty of the Blue Mosque and the
warmth of the city’s people. He spent hours wandering the streets,
photographing the destination’s quirks, getting lost, immersing
himself in the endless flow of urban energy that pulses through the
city. In the shadows of towering minarets and to the rhythmic chant
of muezzin calls, McCurry explored Istanbul’s most iconic sights, as
well as those less visited by the uninitiated.

The Kimberley in Western Australia remains pristine and relatively
untouched. Stretching roughly 163,000 square miles (423,000
square kilometers), from the Indian Ocean in the west all the way
to the edge of the Northern Territory in the east, with southern
boundaries marked by the Tanami and Great Sandy Deserts, it’s
a place where travelers can indeed get back to nature. You’ll be
the sole car on the dusty road for hours at a time and one of only
a handful of people hiking the path to a refreshing waterhole,
