Safety programmes help
keep the Sappi family safe

With so much happening throughout the Each of Sappi’s safety
business, our Risk teams keep safety top of programmes are underpinned by
mind with relevant, actionable programmes risk assessments, group sharing of
that challenge employees and contractors incidents, root cause investigations,
to proactively identify potential hazards and the enforcement of compliance and
make safe choices.
leadership engagement.
In the Sappi family, much like your own family, we
care about the wellbeing and safety of every
member. We believe it is unacceptable that a life or
a limb should be at stake or lost in the course of our
business.

The safety programmes in each Sappi region are
aimed at creating an environment where no one
will suffer permanent disability or loss of life. This
is achieved through interventions that focus on
changing behaviour and guiding engagement to
help us make smarter decisions and avoid
accidents and injuries at all cost.

Our upcoming Global Safety Awareness Week –
31 May to 04 June 2021 – is one of the ways in
which we foster a ‘I value life’ safety culture within
Sappi.

But we need your help. Please participate and
assist the Sappi family in reaching its all-
encompassing global safety goal of zero injuries.

Get ready for a week of fun and excitement!

Don’t come to work…

If anyone in your home has flu-like symptoms, or if they
or anyone else living in the same house have tested for
COVID-19 and are waiting for results.

Be on the safe side and contact your clinic sister, who will
give advice based on clinical facts.

Did you know?

• Testing is available at all laboratories; a doctor’s reference
letter is not required.

• Most pharmacy clinics conduct rapid tests (same as the
Sappi clinics).

• For medical aid members: the costs for the tests will be
deducted from your risk benefit and not your savings benefit.
