Highlights of the month!!!
School reopened for Grades 6 to 10 on the 23rd May &
1st June for Grades 1 to 5
Grades 9 and 10 had first Term Test on 25th May
World Environment Day was celebrated on 6th June
International Yoga Day was observed on 21st June
An E-waste drive was conducted from 6th to 16th June
‘Say No To Plastic’ Movement was initiated in
collaboration with ‘Little WISE’ on 25th June
Achievements speak for themselves…
It is with great pride that we at Daffodils English School announce that our
Principal Mrs. Aparna Ramasheshaiah has been honored D.Litt (Doctor of
Letters) by The University of Central America for her accomplishments in
promoting education.
We congratulate madam on this achievement and wish her many more accolades!!!
Students are the change-makers of tomorrow ….
Students from Daffodils English School participated in Imagine Cup Junior 2022
- an initiative from Microsoft. They presented an idea for the concept “AI for good”
and proposed “Consilium” a robot to act as a counsellor in schools and universities
for students dealing with depression and emotional stress.
The students Sai Pranav.V, Aditya Krishnan, Sreshta.V, Antara.S and Tejes.S
were appreciated in the morning assembly for their efforts and dedication.
We wish them success in their future endeavours.
Daffodils English School congratulates Dr. Lokesh N, a Daffodilian, on completion
of his course in Medicine!!
Lokesh had made the school proud by being the school topper in Grade 10 Board
Examination while he was in school.
He has made us proud yet again by being awarded the Best All Rounder during his
Graduation Ceremony in Dr. B R Ambedkar Medical College from where he has
successfully completed his MBBS. He has consistently been among the top five scorers
in his class in all the five years of his course.

The School Anthem is the pride of any school.
Daffodils English School released the School Anthem in the Morning Assembly on
3rd June, 2022 with great pride.
The Anthem was composed and set to music by the Grade 10 students of 2020-21
batch. The students dedicated the Anthem to school with Kathak and
Bharatanatyam performances as a mark of reverence to their alma mater.
Their dedication towards composing the School Anthem is well appreciated.
2022 is the Centenary birth year of our Founder Late Sri.P.K.Bheemaiah.
Keeping up with Sir’s motto of 'Do Well All You Do' , Daffodils English School
has associated itself with ‘Little WISE Club’ a club hosted by 10-year-old Siyona.
The club works towards a world with “No Plastics”. A plastic collection drive was
organized in the school premises in connection with the same on Saturday, the 25th
of June, 2022. Students and parents were urged to come and deposit plastic wastes
from homes. Thank you for the tremendous response towards this cause.
Environment Day was celebrated with many activities, speeches and creating
awareness towards safeguarding Mother Earth. The theme “Only One Earth” echoed
in each of them.
Mrs.Geeta, mother of child podcaster, Miss Siyona Vikram graced the morning
assembly. She spoke about the voice of Siyona – fighting against plastic pollution via
Little Mind Chats, and Little WISE club. She also suggested that each child should
be an eco-warrior.
The Environment Day assembly also gave information about the “E-waste collection
drive” at DES from 6th June, 2022 – 15th June, 2022 .
Various activities like drawing, colouring, story telling with puppets, slogan writing,
poster making were carried out by students form Grades 1-10 to mark the occasion.
Yoga for Humanity!!!
The International Day for Yoga celebrations at school set the tone for the entire
day. It started with a session of meditation, followed by breathing techniques and
Surya Namaskar displayed by students of Grades 6-9 under the able guidance of
yoga expert Mrs.Vimla in the lawns of the school.
The entire ambience looked serene yet dynamic.
Sneak peek into some engaging sessions…
Daffodilians joined yet another incredible Flipgrid Live Event on Wildlife
Conservation. They were honoured to have United Nations Environment
Programme's Champion of the Earth for Science and Innovation Dr. Gladys
Kalema-Zikusoka as a guest. She talked about her award-winning project CTPH
(Conservation Through Public Health) created to protect gorillas and other
wildlife from zoonotic diseases.
In-person Professional Development workshop "Engage & Amplify with
Flipgrid - Level 1" was conducted for teachers of the Junior Wing. Ms. Kamal
Preet, Educator Innovation Lead at Flipgrid, Microsoft was the Resource Person
for the workshop.
On account of World music day, the students of Grade 9 performed an acoustic
version of blue bird, a Japanese number by Ikimono-Gakari.
A work shop on 'How to better ourselves as human beings and teachers" was
conducted by Mrs. Usha Ravi, Counselor - Daffodils English School.
Classroom activity…
Students of Grade 3 had an activity in Kannada on Varnamale to identify the
letters through flash cards and it was good to see all the children enjoying the
learning...
