Aruvanahalli – A Glimpse of Humility!
Class 10 (State Board) students had been to a much-awaited village trip which was a
part of Swachh Daffodils and an interdisciplinary project for Formative Assessment 2.
This village trip brought them face-to-face with the humility of the innocent villagers.
Students gave away books and stationery to the children of the school they visited
there, spent time with them and learnt a few life lessons too. They experienced joy of
sharing and learnt the quality of being humble and grateful for all that they are
blessed with.
As a part of Field trip and SUPW, a visit to Nightingale Centre for Alzheimers and
Sandya Kirana was organized for the students of Grade 10 on 27th July, 2019.

Best Out of Waste…
Recycling things can create magic!
In sync with the celebrations for World Environment Day, an Inter-House Best Out of
Waste Competition of working models was organised for students of Grades 6-10.
Students whole heartedly pooled in efforts and participated in creating models of
vacuum cleaner, fountain, water filters, volcano and several others.
All the models were exhibited during the first Parents Teachers Meeting.
The students’ efforts were well appreciated by one and all.
Classroom Activities…
The students of Grade 10 participated in a group discussion as a part of their class
activity facilitated by Mrs Ronita Gogoi, their Geography teacher. They actively
discussed and suggested measures for 'Forest Conservation.' The major points of
discussion were concentrated on population explosion and its effects on decreased
forest cover.
Class 10 (State Board) students projected a PowerPoint presentation and put up a role
play based on their experiences in Aruvanahalli. This was a multidisciplinary project.
Class 9 (State Board) students made posters on Swachh Daffodils with the theme
‘ Greening the Blue’. These posters were handed over to the Government school in
Aruvanahalli.
Science in Action…
Students of Grade 5 were introduced to the concept of Sound!
There were many activities designed and shown to help students understand that
vibrations are responsible for the sounds we hear.
Stopwatch, xylophone, a musical toy and other such familiar articles were used to
drive home the concepts.
Students experienced vibrations using several of their senses.
Techie Corner…
Learning is always fun when the topic gets interesting. Evolution of computers has
always mesmerized us with the way it has evolved from generation to generation.
Students of Grade 5 participated in group discussions and presented role plays about
the evolution of computers from their rudimentary stages to what they are today.
Take home of the activity - Students not only understood the concept but also integrated
the skills of presentation and team work.

their own wallpaper using Paint Application.
Hour of Code!!!
Students of Grade 3 took a trip onto a new mysterious island and helped Hiro explore it!
In this fun-filled activity, students took part in a journey that has been specially
designed for coding. Students were introduced to many of the fundamentals of coding
through engaging themselves with puzzles in the tropical wilderness using Box Island
app on iPad.
" Learning to write programs stretches your mind, helps you think better and creates a
way of thinking about things that I think is helpful in all domains." - Bill Gates.
Students of Grade 2 participated in a programming activity called "Hour of Code".
This activity in the form of game had levels to clear to move on to the next levels
which needed students to put their thinking caps.
Our smart kids were efficient enough to crack the levels and were all super
enthusiastic to decode the levels...
