By now, you’re probably tired of hearing this talk of paperwork and documentation for warranties.
We want to be easy to do business with, yet require paperwork to obtain the warranty. Can the two
exist together?? Of course we can do! We never say No! Sure, it’s hot out there and we’re selling auto
parts! With temperatures soaring, we’re selling Air Conditioning parts..and A/C Compressors. We’re
selling Catalytic Converters and certainly selling shocks, struts and strut assemblies! Selling these
items is usually a very nice sale and helps add up those numbers, however, what happens when an
aledged warranty occurs? Are we making sure that all parties are protected..them and us..in the case
of a defect?
Please be sure that when selling an Air Conditioning Compressor that you sell all of the related items
required to pemit or allow a warranty claim..or even a Labor Claim should that occur! Even if the
customer does not want these items...you need to invoice the customer to protect them and us and
just tell them to return the unwanted items! Let’s find common ground and just communicate with the
customer! You’ll find the customer appreciates you looking after them!
For Monroe Shocks/Struts and Exhaust...we just need the Monroe Warranty form filled out. You can
do assist..or get to that accounts salesperson..or send a form with the replacement..but make no
mistake..we will warranty the item..we just need the form filled out! Just communicate with the
customer and you can be sure of a positive outcome! (Monroe Warranty Forms will be sent with this
letter to each location)
All Compressor manufacturers require that the following items be sold on the same invoice with the
compressor to permit warranty allowance:
***The Compressor must be on the invoice
***Accumulator or Drier MUST be replaced
***Orifice Tube MUST be replaced (if the vehicle has one)
***System must be cleaned..or flushed..so you must sell a flush liquid TCC6545-6 for one or
FSA69991 or an in-line filter
All of the above MUST be on the same invoice or WARRANTY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED!
(if they purchase the related items elsewhere, they must be able to show proof of purchase in the case of a warranty)
