Cut List

• (4) 2 x 4 @ 27" • (4) 2 x 4 @ 24"
• (4) 2 x 4 @ 21"
• (4) 1 x 3 @ 27" (notched on corners)
• (4) 1 x 4 @ 20 1/8"
• (2) 3/4" x 18" x 20-1/8"

1.
Start with four, 2 x 4 x 27" legs.

2.
Align 21" cross pieces between legs, flush to the top and bottom edge.
Predrill and secure using 3" screws.

3.
Place 24" top and bottom plates on either end of the legs. Pre-drill and
secure with 3" screws.

Notch 1 x 3 mounting boards. Attach flush to the outside edge and secure
using 2" wood screws.

4.

Attach 1 x 4 x 20 1/8" support arms parallel to the mounting boards using
utility hinges.

5.

Cut two, 18" x 21-1/8" plywood panels using a circular saw or table saw.
Center the large, plywood panel support arm, perpendicular to mounting board.
Attach using utility hinges.

6.
Connect support arms together using medium duty strap hinges.

7.
Pre-drill and attach sash locks to the inside of each joint.

8.

To keep the worktop in place and to prevent movement, you'll want to add
removable alignment dowels. Pre-drill 1/2" holes, 1" deep into each corner
of the top plates. Insert dowels and allow to sit proud (above the surface)
1/2".

9.
Transfer the dowel locations to the underside of the plywood worktop, and drill
1/2' holes, 1/2" deep. When you drop the top in place, the dowels will keep it
from sliding around.

With the worktop in place, secure it to the frame using clamps. Cut 2 x 2
rails to fit snugly between end panels. Attach the rails to the underside of
worktop using 2” screws.

10.

Remove the clamps and check to make sure the worktop is aligned on
the dowels.

11.

Use 1-1/4" screws to attach 3" locking swivel casters in each corner of
the workbench base.
