In the last few weeks, Pahlawan Street in front of Madiun
City Hall is indeed the talk of many people and is well
attended. This is because the street now became like
Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta.

The Government of Madiun City does arrange pedestrians
on Pahlawan Street like Malioboro. Although it's not 100%
similar to Malioboro, Pahlawan Street of Madiun City can
now be a local alternative to refresh mind and look for the

instagramable photo.

The new icon of Madiun city is a pedestrian in the path of
Pahlawan Street. For Madiun and others who miss

Malioboro's romantic atmosphere but are willing to go all the
way to Yogyakarta, these pedestrians are the answer.

To reach the Pahlawan Street Center is easy.
1. From Surabaya, after the arch of Madiun, go straight for 3
km and it comes to Pahlawan Street.
2. If you take the train, just exit the station then turn right and
go about 200 meters till you find the Pahlawan Street.
3. From Solo all the way to Madiun, From the direction of
Solo, just head towards Madiun City. After passing
Bengawan Madiun you will find a traffic light, then turn left
onto Jalan Ahmad Yani. Just follow the road until you see a
traffic light then turn right, then you will arrive at the
pedestrian around Madiun City.





Laid out, the pedestrian is now larger. The city government
also provide seating rows for residents to rest or chat. In
some locations even chairs were furnished with tables. More
than a dozen trees are planted like in Malioboro Street.
Pahlawan Street attract the attention of the public, especially
the youth. At Sunday nights, this area will be packed with
people.

The mayor of Madiun, Maidi, said the revitalization of the
pedestrian in Pahlawan Street certainly took the look of
Malioboro. This is in support of the economic and tourist
activities of Madiun. Maidi said the intersection of Pahlawan
Street is for the location has been known as one of the
shopping destinations and the busiest of Madiun.





Before the revitalization, the pedestrian seemed perfectly normal
without any interest. But in 2019, Madiun City Government began
changing the way of Pahlawan S treet so that it face changed as
drastically as it does today. Starts with a pedestrian diverging on the
east side of the street, and then the lights create a beautiful and
antiquated impression. There are also benches for the visitor to relax
on. With flowers in a row creat ing a romantic atmosphere like
Malioboro.

Beside pedestrians, on the right side of the road is a place
called Sumber Umis Park that makes for miniature worlds
such as the Ka’bah . On the left side of the pedestrian was
built a culinary place. There are also restaurants and cafes all

over the place. On the other hand, there's a garden of
Sumber Wangi Park and it's equally interesting, because it's

a miniature of world, like a Merlion Statue. This place is a
photo booth, because there's no need to go all the way to

Singapore.





Around the Pahlawan Street, there are also three shopping
centers ranging from Lawu Plaza, Madiun Plaza , and

Timbul Jaya Plaza. There are three hotels, Merdeka Hotel,
Kartika Hotel , and Amaris Hotel. Even the mayor's office is
on this street. That's why this street is called the Center of

Madiun C ity.
