HOLT customer Copart, headquartered in Dallas,
specializes in the resale and remarketing of used,
wholesale and salvage title vehicles. They are the
premier source for online vehicle auctions with 200
locations in 11 countries selling more than 175,000
vehicles at auction every day.
Recently, Copart took delivery of the 938th Cat 938
wheel loader purchased by the company. To mark
the occasion, Caterpillar customized two machines.
In addition to a custom paint job, there are custom
leather seats embroidered with the Copart logo, and
a plaque signed by every assembly technician on the
938 line at Caterpillar’s Clayton, NC plant.
HOLT delivered one of the custom machines to the
Copart Grand Prairie yard on November 5, 2021.
H.O. Penn Machinery Company, a Cat dealer in New
York, delivered a second custom machine. Copart
also owns a 25th anniversary version of the 938,
delivered in July 2017 to their Wilmer location.
Copart relies on the Cat 938 for most of its heavy
lifting needs. HOLT’s first delivery to Copart was December 10, 2012, and the machine is still
operating on their Grand Prairie yard with 13,572 hours!
Today, there are 53 Cat 938’s on 10 Copart yards across our territory. Additionally, Copart’s
construction company, Valfair, in Forney, purchased generators, light towers, and other Cat
equipment to support construction of Copart yards nationwide, and to respond to natural disasters.
HOLT’s unique relationship with Copart includes full dealer support. “They rely on HOLT
100% for all of their needs including service, maintenance, and parts,” said Ben Davidson, Vice
President for Machine Sales. “We couldn’t be prouder to continue our partnership with Copart.”
