Quilts Stitched with Love

The Purple Door helps those affected by domestic
violence and sexual assault transition to a safe
environment. We learned that this organization
has many children and mothers at the shelter
over the holidays, and Diane Thomas, Credit &
Collections Representative 2, felt compelled to
do something! Diane went to work collecting
fabric and supplies to make quilts for the
children. Each quilt took 3 hours to make. By
December 1st, Diane had assembled 18 handmade
quilts! The United Way arranged a surprise
delivery to the Purple Door. Diane, along with
Alvin Thomas, Parts Manager, delivered the
quilts December 3 to Stephanie Jordan, Michele
Cabrera, and Amy Hendrix of the United Way.
Everyone at The Purple Door was surprised and
very thankful for the beautiful gifts. We know the
women and children will find comfort and love
in a time of need this holiday season. Submitted by

Two dozers were too wide for the very narrow entrance tunnel to the infield at the Texas
Motor Speedway recently. The tractors were slightly over 12 feet 2 inches wide, 2 inches
wider than the tunnel. Sara Heckman, Sales Coordinator-Irving, and Christopher
Standridge, Transport Dispatch Coordinator-San Antonio, stayed in close contact during
the process to develop a solution. They secured the service technicians, cleared the HOLT
hauler to stay late, got the machines reconfigured, through the tunnel, and onto the track.
