Five More Locations Awarded Five Stars
Fifteen HOLT CAT locations have been transformed for the Retail Customer Experience (RCE). It’s been a journey and a large team effort
with three years of meetings, strategy, pilot testing, training, and finally full retail transformation. Did you know for every 10 machines sold,
8 are skid steers, backhoe loaders, mini-excavators and compact track loaders? RCE is a new way of doing business at HOLT and our answer
to growth in the Building Construction Products (BCP) market. At our store locations, the retail customer feels secure, appreciated, and can
transact a new machine sale in two hours.
RCE transformation is only the beginning, with a continuing need for maintenance and upkeep. Our Local Management Teams (LMTs) in
Austin, Bridgeport, Cleburne, Corpus Christi, North Dallas, Edinburg North, Fort Worth, Irving, Laredo, Lewisville, Little Elm, San Antonio,
Sulphur Springs, Victoria, and Waco work with an RCE maintenance checklist each month to review any needs and to ensure all that has been
transformed is in tip top shape. They report back to Sabine Fritz, Marketing Manager-San Antonio. Sabine assists with any maintenance and
merchandising needs.
Six RCE store locations recently underwent a Caterpillar Retail Five Star Assessment. It entailed a one-hour walk-around inspection with
Marta Sevilla, Caterpillar Retail Development Consultant,
and Sam Jackson, Caterpillar Marketing/Sales Operations
Rep. They ran through a hefty Caterpillar checklist to inspect
overall store appearance, cleanliness, wayfinding signage,
friendliness of staff, safety procedures, machine inventory and
display area, price tags, sales literature, ability to transact a
machine sale in two hours, and more.
The HOLT CAT Lewisville retail display area. Austin, Fort Worth, Lewisville, North Dallas, and San
Antonio received a Five Star Rating. Bridgeport received a
four star rating, an ‘A’ in our book, and Caterpillar’s too, as
Bridgeport did not qualify for five stars because we do not
have a full-time retail sales associate/sales coordinator on
staff at the location. Waco, Cleburne, and Sulphur Springs
previously received Five Star Ratings. Four more stores will
undergo the Five Star Assessment by Caterpillar later this
year. All LMTs and store employees deserve a big HIGH 5
for the hard work they have put into maintaining the RCE.

Throwback: The Great War
A Holt artillery tractor in use by the French Army in the Vosges during the spring of 1915. During World War I, almost all of Holt’s production was military
materiel. Its tractors were widely used by the Allies to supplant horses pulling heavy artillery and tow supply trains. Holt tractors also played a part, to varying
degrees, in the development of military tanks in Europe. Holt’s equipment was credited with helping the Allies to win the war.

Longview Teams Win Award
The Greater Longview United Way presented an award to both

donations. Congratulations! Contributed by Jannina Montano
Shoeboxes Make a Difference
In April, San Antonio teamed up with the United Way for the
annual Shoebox Project. As a team, we succeeded in filling
950 shoeboxes with personal care supplies that will be used
to provide assistance to children’s homes, veterans outreach
programs, and for homeless and vulnerable individuals in Bexar
County. Without the support and efforts of each employee, this
project fulfillment would have been impossible.
United Way Auction Breaks Record
The 2019 United Way HOLT Auction was also a huge success.
Through charitable donations from our business partners, as
a company, we raised a record $13,085. A wide variety of
donations included gift cards, Yeti coolers, handmade quilts, and
electronics. HOLT matched 100 percent of the proceeds, making
a total donation of $26,170.00 to United Way agencies across
Texas.
Thank you to everyone who participated in each of the activities.
It takes a great team to make a difference. Contributed by Avenell
