2 CONVERSATIONS Issue I COVER STORY HOLT INDUSTRIAL RENTALS In mid-December, Texas First Rentals expanded with the acquisition of Rental One. Rental One, founded in 2004 in Colleyville, Texas, has equipment rental roots going back to the 1950s when it was established as a family-owned, full-service equipment and storage container rental company offering a full line of well-maintained, quality construction equipment, and concrete, safety, erosion control and construction supplies in 15 locations throughout Dallas-Fort Worth and Central Texas. Like Texas First Rentals and HOLT, Rental One has built a family legacy of serving customers with excellence and a reputation for passionately serving the communities where they live and work. Don Myrick, Sr. Vice President and General Manager - Texas First Rentals, noted, “We recognize the value of bringing Rental One and its employees to our organization and I’m confident that the Rental One team will align well with our uniquely Texas culture and core values. “I am excited about the opportunity to expand the Texas First Rentals footprint to 40 locations and solidify our position as the leading construction equipment rental provider in Texas. We look forward to learning from the team at Rental One and leveraging the best practices from both organizations to provide our customers with legendary service,” said Don. Rental One and Texas First Rentals joining forces will create a stronger rental company to serve the needs of customers throughout our territory. Rental One’s corporate values and mission of serving others with excellence aligns well with Texas First Rentals’ core values. “Our team has worked to build a successful business with meaningful relationships that span three generations,” said Rental One President Mike O’Neal. “Our customers will benefit from a broader range of products and combined expertise as we join the Texas First Rentals team. We continue to be committed to providing customers with the best equipment and reliable service they have grown to know.” “I’m confident joining a values-based organization is a positive move for us all,” said O’Neal, “and we look forward to collaborating with the Texas First Rentals team to build upon our mutual success.” This acquisition will allow Texas First Rentals to expand its presence to a total of 40 locations in highly-attractive regions poised for future growth. 3 HOLT INDUSTRIAL RENTALS CONVERSATIONS Issue I Seeking to address the growing needs of the $52 billion U.S. equipment rental market, HOLT Industrial Rentals, a HOLT company, launched November 7 to provide specialty industrial equipment solutions throughout Texas. The increased needs associated with expanding facilities, construction, and climate-based challenges have caused industries — including oil and gas, events, and manufacturing — to turn to full-service rental solutions, as opposed to purchasing and maintaining the equipment themselves. This is on top of the need for temporary equipment to support outages, maintenance, equipment reconditioning and business expansion. HOLT Industrial Rentals offers turnkey solutions centered around industrial power (power generators, distribution, load banks), climate (chillers, air conditioners, heaters), and air (compressors, desiccant dryers) — often combining multiple elements for one holistic answer to customers’ challenges. “Our customers are consistently asking for complete solution packages, not just individual pieces of equipment,” said Don Myrick, General Manager of HOLT Industrial Rentals. “It eases the burden of running their businesses by offloading the expertise needed to plan out these large, temporary industrial solutions.” According to a recent study, the U.S. equipment rental market is expected to grow to $64 billion by 2025 and at an average annual rate of 5.47%. The study cites that a “rise in party and event planning, growth in oil and gas production, rising employment and rapid urbanization would drive the growth of the market.” “We’ve seen increased rental requests across our businesses and have always been an organization that pivots to meet the needs of our customers,” said Peter J. Holt, CEO and General Manager. “We understand the importance of rentals across the industrial, construction and facilities equipment industries and the role our services can play in the success of these businesses,” he added. In addition to the larger scale of operations and increased speed of business, companies are also feeling the strain of increased inclement weather such as freezes, heat waves and natural disasters that can bring business to a halt. “Temporary industrial solutions are critical to keep productivity going at the pace necessary in today’s business landscape, and we are excited to launch this new company,” said Holt. HOLT Industrial Rentals combining a mix of existing HOLT talent and bringing in new team members as well, led by Myrick and Justin Merkys, Vice President, a 22-year industry veteran who was formerly with Aggreko and Ingersoll Rand. HOLT Launches HOLT Industrial Rentals Update: HOLT Assists DPS Training In a story in 2022 Issue III, we wrote about helping the Texas Department of Public Service (DPS) Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division as they competed to test their State Troopers’ knowledge on performing DOT Roadside Inspections.
