The haul drivers couldn’t finish the 150-mile
trip on Friday, so Shawn volunteered and met
the drivers on Saturday morning.
In addition to those who jumped in to help,
what made this team effort extraordinary was
the willingness of everyone to offer advice
and suggestions for others who might help,
including Kody Weaver, Shuttle Truck
Driver 2-Waco. Thank you all for exhibiting
your best HOLT values for being dynamic by
being creative, and sharing a mutual desire to
succeed.
Longview recently had several WMS guns
stop working. After contacting a company to
repair them, the repair quote was $971.25.
While the store received approval to repair
the necessary hardware, rather than move
forward, Josh Boykin, Parts Warehouse
Supervisor 2-Longview, used his skills and
previous knowledge to disassemble the gun.
He found a screw that had backed out and
was floating inside the unit, which turned out
to be a simple fix. Thank you Josh for your
tenacity and concern for HOLT’s money, and
for saving almost $1,000.
Deanna Solis, fleet management at CPS
Energy, sent a big thank you to Mary
Praegitzer, Parts Cashier-San Antonio, for
doing a fantastic job. “Thank you Mary. You
always provide exemplary customer service.
It is a pleasure to do business with you,”
wrote Deanna. Way to go, Mary!

Pictured right, Don Hardwick, Regional Service Manager-Waco, oversees signing

the second half of their junior year and are paid as part-time employees, providing
an avenue for students to enter HOLT with a full-time career as a technician, or as
a parts, finance, or IT employee.
HOLT CAT has partnered with Connally High School for the High School Intern
program since 2016. This is the fourth group of students to enter our company to intern as technicians, welders, and parts department
associates. The high school intern program started in 2012 at HOLT CAT Irving with Dubiski High School, Grand Prairie ISD. In 2020
the program will have partnerships with fourteen different High School programs including the Diesel Training Academy at Alamo

HOLT Manufacturing Rolls First Unit Off of Waco Line
The first custom power package has been completed at the new Waco facility. Richard Marek, Director of Manufacturing-Waco, said
it was a team effort. “The thing I would have to talk about most is the teamwork. The team included corporate entities like Continuous
Improvement, Procurement, and Facilities and extended knowledge experts in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Irving helping an energetic,
determined group in Waco to create the first power packaging unit for the site.”
Starting a new process is never easy. “There were bumps every day, (EVERY DAY)” Richard explained, “but everyone kept coming back
and helping each other, so we could build the best product for our customer while remembering that this was our first step to be the supplier
of choice for our customers.”
The 100,000 square foot HOLT Manufacturing facility has been configured to deliver fast turn-around on new product production while
providing full customization as requested. More projects are planned for completion by the end of the year, including two more packages
with potential for three additional units, their first Spray King water tank, and a 613
scraper unit.
At the heart of it all is the team. “The team came together and grew together by
supporting each other,” Richard concluded.
