It was a moment to honor the people behind the programs—those who quietly ensured that policies were translated into action and that services reached the communities they were meant to serve.Beyond the provincial level, DILG Bataan and its partner LGUs earned recognition from DILG Central Lu zon, affirming the strength of local governance systems in the province. The province’s strong performance in project implementation was acknowledged during the SubayBAYANI Awards, while DILG Bataan was likewise recognized at the Gawad Timpukan. Bataan LGUs also demonstrated excellence at the Regional Local Legislative Awards (LLA), underscoring that effective governance is reinforced by responsive leadership, sound legislation, and accountable institutions.During the PAGMAYA Awards, LGUs were recognized for exemplary performance in key governance programs, including the Fisheries Compliance Audit (FishCA), LGU Compliance Assessment (LGU CA), Barangay Environmental Compliance Audit (BECA), and the Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA). These recognitions celebrated the LGUs’ sustained commitment to good governance, peace and order, and environmental cleanliness.Bataan’s performance continued to resonate beyond the region, as the province consistently made its mark at the national level. Three (3) local government units were recognized for their exemplary performance in the 2024 Fisheries Compliance Audit (FishCA), reflecting strong compliance, effective implementation, and responsible stewardship of marine and coastal resources. This national-level recognition, The Department shall ensure peace and order, public safety and security, uphold excellence in local governance and enable resilient and inclusive communitiesalongside Bataan’s continued placement for the Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) for Calendar Year 2025, underscores the province’s sustained commitment to good governance and institutional excellence.Another meaningful milestone of the quarter was Husay Barangay 2025, highlighted by the Triumphant 11.11 celebration. This event placed barangays at the center of development, reinforcing the reality that national and provincial goals are ultimately realized at the grassroots level, where governance is most visible and most personal. In public health and safety, the province reached a significant achievement through the collaborative efforts of the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), DOH Region III, LGUs, and DILG Bataan. All 12 city and municipal LGUs attained 100% DOH accreditation of their Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Programs (CBDRPs)—reflecting a balanced approach to peace and order that values recovery, community support, and inclusive intervention. The quarter also looked toward the future with the announcement of a major infrastructure development: the new DILG Bataan Provincial Office soon to rise in Abucay. This project stands as a long-term investment in institutional strengthening, providing a functional and accessible space that will further enhance service delivery, coordination, and support to LGUs across the province.Equally important were the gains in participatory governance. The establishment of the Provincial People’s Council, along with the conduct of capacity development activities and council meetings, reinforced the role of civil society as a vital partner in local governance—highlighting citizen participation beyond the ballot, grounded in dialogue, collaboration, and shared responsibility.Taken together, the milestones of the fourth quarter reflect more than a productive end to the year. They tell the story of a province moving forward with intention—where local governments, civil society, and national agencies work in step; where excellence is built through systems, partnerships, and people; and where progress is sustained by a clear sense of direction. As this chapter closed, DILG Bataan carried forward not only the recognitions earned, but the lessons learned and the standards raised—ready to face the next years with renewed commitment to responsive, inclusive, and effective governance.BELINA T.
