Headteacher Bulletin #25 (28.2.22)

Dear Parent/Carer

A full of fun week at Blacklands, with lots of
quality learning happening around our school.
We try to keep Twitter populated with photos
of our children’s learning… have a wee look!
Remember, you don’t have to have a Twitter
account, you can just google Blacklands Primary
Twitter to see the pictures.

We are delighted that some of the restrictions
in school are easing and we can have classes
mixing again in a safe and controlled way. We
are also starting visits to our library and look
forward to organising some class trips very
soon. We would appreciate any parent/carers
who may be able to help with supervising on
trips – we will send a forms out and if you are
able to help, please complete and return.

Latecoming is continuing to be an issue and we have

a large number of children who are late to
school every day. This is reported to the
authority and we are accountable for this. If
there is a reason for your child/ren being late,
could you please let Kerry in our office know.

The ‘Ragbags’ sent out by our Eco council have
to be returned between Tuesday 1st and
Monday 7th March. These can be brought by
your child/ren or handed into the school
office. Thank you for your support here.

Today is week 1 of our ‘Girls only’ football
club, which is being led by our Sports Leaders
from Kilwinning Academy. If your P4-7 girl
still wishes to attend, please collect a form
from the school office. Next Monday is the
start of our Cross Country club, which is being
led by Mr Shearer. All children who have
returned a form have got a place and we look
forward to seeing them develop their running
stamina!

We have just taken delivery of a new

Wednesday, next week, is World Book Day.
Classes will be taking part in some ‘in class’
activities but there is no dressing up/dressing
down… school clothes as usual!

Next week is also ‘Cyber Week Scotland’ and
we will continue to promote safe and sensible
choices online. This is part of our digital skills
curriculum. We have our ‘Safer Schools’ app
which supports this for you at home. Let us
know if you need any help accessing this.

As usual, if you have any questions, queries or
concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact me:

Susan Lauder
