Welcome P5.6 (1)

Hello All,

Firstly, I would like to welcome you to P5/6. I am excited to return and begin
this years teaching and learning with you all. In class we have been settling in
to our new routines and discussing our learning topics. We have even
managed to design our own desert islands.

Due to current guidance we do still have some changes to the school day.
Firstly, as you will be aware the children start at 9am and finish at 2.40pm. It is
important that the children arrive at their given time to avoid congestion as we
have social distancing measures throughout the school. Children will also leave
each day at their allocated time.

We ask that the children come to school each day with a jacket and suitable
shoes for outdoors. All children will be accessing the playground in all weathers.
P.E kits will not be required at present as the North Ayrshire risk assessment states
we are unable to use the hall for PE until further notice, instead we will be doing
fitness activities outdoors.

We also ask that children come to school with water that will last them the full
day. This may mean they may need to bring more than one bottle.

Over the next week the P6 children will have the opportunity to stand for the
vice house captains and all children will have the opportunity to be in our
school committees. I am sure when we do this the children will be eager to
share their development and learning! I look forward to a safe, happy and
productive year in P5/6 with your child and to meeting/talking to you in due
course.
