Headteacher Bulletin #34 (13.5.22)
Dear Parent/Carer
Again, an action packed week at Blacklands! The
football, netball and multisports clubs were well
attended – and our football team received
medals of participation for their efforts at our
locality football team which they were
delighted with. Many classes worked with our
artists from ‘Impact Arts’ and the painting of
our outdoor containers will start at the
weekend. Primary 7 had a full day with Paul
Bristow, our Kilwinning Storyteller. Paul is
returning next week to pull together the
project he has been working on and he will be
filming with some children from P4/5, P5/6 and
P7.
Primary 7 transition is well underway. Classes
are confirmed - register class and practical
sets, and the pastoral team were out yesterday
to meet the young people who will be in their
house. The class is continuing with weekly
tasks from all the faculties and there will be a
two day visit to Kilwinning Academy in June.
A reminder that dates confirmed for outings
this term are:
16.5.22 – P1 to Eglinton Park
26.5.22 – P4/5 & P5/6 to Dumfries House
30.5.22 - whole school trip to Culzean
31.5.22 (am) - Sports Day at Kilwinning
Sports Club (EY Class-P7)
1.6.22 - whole school ‘Tough Mudder’
2.6.22/3.6.22 – Queen’s Jubilee Holiday
10.6.22 – Day Outdoors at Eglinton Park
Evan, our Family Learning Worker, has been
working on an outdoor project with P4/5. Next
week is the last week and the final project of
this session will be with P1 and their
parents/carers. Letters will be out with more
information on this next week.
