Headteacher Bulletin #33 (6.5.22)

Dear Parent/Carer

This four day week has seen lots of action at
Blacklands – clubs for football, netball and
multisports, a visit to McGavin Park and a day
with Paul Briston, on the Kilwinning Story
Telling Project for Primary 7.

Next week, we are working with Impact Arts.
One artist is working with classes to create
some ‘Values’ posters for our playground and
another artist is developing a project which will
see our outdoor containers transformed with
designs. All very exciting! Next Wednesday is
the next locality football where some of our
children will be representing the school playing
other schools from Kilwinning. We are very
grateful for the support of all our volunteers
which allow these clubs to run and give our
children these opportunities.

We are once again being offered support from
Greggs Foundation to help alleviate financial
pressures we know are being felt by families.
I can submit an application on your behalf for
the following: fridge, freezer, fridge-freezer,
cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer,
beds/bedding, clothing vouchers and food
grocery vouchers. Please let me know if we can
help.

We are currently looking at our focus for our
School Improvement Plan for next session
(from August) and we would value your input
here. I will send out a forms survey at the
start of each week and would be grateful if
you could take 5 minutes to complete this.
This lets us see what is important to you at as
we look at school priorities.

 26.5.22 – P4/5 & P5/6 to Dumfries House
 30.5.22 - whole school trip to Culzean

 31.5.22 (am) - Sports Day at Kilwinning
Sports Club (EY Class-P7)

 1.6.22 - whole school ‘Tough Mudder’
 2.6.22/3.6.22 – Queen’s Jubilee Holiday
 10.6.22 – Day Outdoors at Eglinton Park

Mrs Smith sent a forms survey re a ‘Kidz Card’
for free bus travel. If you wish this please
complete the ‘forms’ for next Friday and a
card will be posted to your home address. If
any details have changed please let us know.
