Bulletin 36

Bulletin 36

Headteacher Bulletin #36 (1.6.22)

Dear Parent/Carer

This has probably been the busiest week yet –
we have managed to squeeze LOTS into a three
day week! I really hope you and your children
have enjoyed being part of the Blacklands
community – we have certainly enjoyed being
able to take our children out and about and
provide a variety of experiences which Covid
did not allow.

Next week, we will be back to a more ‘normal’
learning week. The weather looks like it should
improve, so please send children to school
dressed for the weather – please put suncream
on if needed and send a hat if it has to be
warm. We are currently doing lots of tracking
and assessment with children, and we are
already thinking ahead to their classes for next
session.

On Friday 10th June we are having a whole
school ‘Day Outdoors’ at Eglinton Park.
Children should come to school dressed for
the weather and we will walk to Eglinton Park.
A full day of activities are planned.

We are very aware that many of you have not
been in the school. We would like to invite
Primary 1-6 parent/carers to an open
afternoon on Friday 17th June where you will
be allocated a time to come into the school,
see your child/ren’s learning
environment/work and also collect your
child/ren’s report for this session. (Primary 7
are at Kilwinning Academy for transition on
both Thursday 16th and Friday 17th June and
we will arrange a separate time for them.)
Time slots will be sent out next week. For
Primary 1 children, Friday 17th June is their
first outdoor learning afternoon (starting at
1.30pm) so all parent/carers are invited from
1.30-3pm on that day.

Dates for the remainder of session are as
follows:

 Thurs/Fri 2nd/3rd June - Jubilee Holiday
 Fri 10th June – Day Outdoors at Eglinton
 Thurs/Fri 16th/17th – P7 to Kilw Academy
 Fri 17th (pm) – Open afternoon/Reports

issued
 Thurs 23rd June – P1 to beach/P7 Colour

Splash
 Fri 24th June – P7 to beach
 Wed 29th June

o 9.30am – Leavers Service at Kilwinning
Old Parish Church followed by

As usual, if you have any questions, queries or
concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact me:

In Partnership,
Susan Lauder
