Headteacher Bulletin #21 (28.1.22)
Dear Parent/Carer
We are at the end of January already and it
has been great to see the engagement of our
children across the school – in their learning
indoors and out and with clubs we are offering
throughout the week. Please send your child/ren
with a change of clothes (socks too) as they are out
in the field at break and lunch as well as for
learning every day.
I share some sad news for Blacklands Primary… but
exciting news for Mrs. Fisher, our P4/5 class
teacher. She has been successful in gaining a
teaching post in Aberdeenshire where she will be
joining her husband who relocated with his job a
few weeks ago. We are interviewing on Thursday for
this post and will share news re a new teacher as
soon as we know. We wish her well and will miss her
lots!
We are hoping to improve the uptake of school
meals across the school. School meals are
FREE for all EY children and P1-5 boys and
girls. There is a new menu which I have
included.
This week we are
at Friday of week
1… Monday sees
the start of week
2.
A wee reminder
that you can order
in advance each day
at ipayimpact.com
and this allows you
to discuss choices
with your child.
We are enjoying an ‘Attention and Listening’
intervention from North Ayrshire’s
‘Professional Learning Academy’. This involves
a teacher supporting the delivery of skills
through a games style learning session. All
classes are receiving an input on this for
around 40 minutes, twice a week. Ask your
child/ren to share some of their learning with
you at home, the games are good fun!
A little reminder that the school is closed for
the February break on Friday 11th, Monday
14th and an in-service day on Tuesday 15th.
Children will finish for the long weekend at
their usual time on Thursday 10th February
and return on Wednesday 16th February.
As usual, if you have any questions, queries or
concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact me:
[email protected].
In Partnership,
Susan Lauder
