ad Teacher’s Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

This is the last newsletter this session. There is lots
happening, please refer to the dates on the last page and
put on your calendar!

We would like to thank our families for supporting us this
session. We have had a really successful year with lots to
celebrate. A special ‘congratulations’ to Kerris Bryden,
who has been chosen to represent the school at the
Segdoune Carnival.

As always, please let us know if there is anything concerning
you about your child. If you phone the office in the first
instance, Mrs Smith will arrange for your child’s class teacher
to be in touch or and appointment can be arranged with
either Mrs Gibson or myself.

I was delighted to be appointed as
permanent Head Teacher of the school
earlier today and look forward to working
with you all over the following session/s.

In partnership,

Susan Lauder

BREAKFAST BOUNCE

Our ‘Breakfast Bounce’ is continuing to be
very successful. This is FREE for all families.
All children are welcome and can come one
day in the week or every day! The choice is
yours!

8.20-8.40 - Breakfast
8.40-9.00 - Activities and games
** P1-3 children must ALL be signed in by a

parent/carer on arrival. **

Play trail

Our children were super excited to get on our
NEW PEF funded play trail. They have been
very careful, followed our safety rules and
have been very responsible.

Our running track has also been used daily
as classes complete their ‘Daily Mile’. We
definitely have boys, girls and staff who are
increasing their fitness. Well done to all!

Attendance Matters

A wee reminder that low attendance and regular late-
coming has a massive detrimental impact on
children’s learning. Headteachers in all North Ayrshire
schools are duty bound to address this with parents/
carers and work together to make improvements.
Children whose attendance has fallen below 90% will
receive a letter to discuss this.
If your child is going to be absent PLEASE phone
the school by 9am if possible. We need to know
your child is safe. Mrs Smith spends a lot of time
calling emergency contacts to establish children’s
whereabouts when they have not arrived at school.
