Headteacher Bulletin #28 (18.3.22)
Dear Parent/Carer
It has been a busy week at Blacklands. P7
enjoyed a transition session with the Social
Studies faculty in class yesterday. Our P4/5
children along with the P5s from 5/6 went to
the Sports Leaders event in the PE
department, which was well organised and
enjoyed by all! Next week, P7 look forward to
an excursion to the People’s Palace in Glasgow
and details coming soon about a P1 trip to the
farm. More trips coming soon for all classes!
Can I please remind everyone that we really
appreciate your support with your child arriving
for start of their school day. 9am for P3/4 and
P5/6, 9.10am for P2 and P4/5 and 9.20am for
P1 and P7 (unless otherwise arranged). This
makes the start of the school day calm and
organised. Our playground is not open or
supervised prior to these times.
We are delighted to raise the profile of ‘Wear
a Hat’ day for Brain Tumour Research, in
memory of Seth, who was a pupil and a friend
of everyone at Blacklands. On Friday 25th
March, children can wear a hat and make a
donation to the charity if they wish. We are
also having an end of term funday organised
by P7 for school funds, where donations of
bottles, chocolate and brick-a-brack would be
very welcome.
We are delighted to be having our third whole
school assembly today, with Mrs Beck from
Kilwinning Abbey. We are looking forward to
going to church on Friday 1st April. All
parent/carers are very welcome. We close at
2.30pm for the Easter holiday and reopen on
Tuesday 19th April.
As usual, if you have any questions, queries or
concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact me:

In Partnership,
Susan Lauder
