Message from the Headteacher
Dear Parent/Carer
As you know, following the update from the First Minister we will
not be open for face to face learning until at least 1st February.
We have opened today at 8.30 am (EYC) and 9am (school) for
childcare of children of key workers and those targeted for
enhanced support. Places have been confirmed with
parents/carers.
Remote learning for all other children commences on Monday 11th
January. More details later in the newsletter.
Can I remind you I can be contacted by email
[email protected] if you have any
queries or questions. Our office staff are working from home,
but Mrs Gibson or myself are in school and will answer the
phones when we can. Please email me if your child contracts
Covid or is required to isolate due to being a contact as we
require to submit this information to the council.
We love to see all the children, please
send any pictures of what you have
been up to and we can share on
Twitter.
In Partnership,
Susan Lauder
Over the course of this week, class teachers will be in
touch by phone to check-in with you/your child and to
set targets for the term ahead.
To ensure consistency of learning across the school, the
following guidelines in setting work will be followed by
all classes in the school:
Children’s learning will be chunked into daily learning
plans.
These will be uploaded to the child a week at a
time to allow maximum flexibility for families to
schedule home learning time to suit their individual
circumstances.
Further daily instruction can be posted by the
teacher to clarify tasks in more detail as required.
Each day’s learning across stages will consist of:
Short reading and mental maths activities
2 core activities which must be completed- 1
in literacy, 1 in numeracy
1 activity from another curriculum area -
desirable but not essential
Further challenge/extension activities –
optional
All children will be sent the ‘Learner’s Remote
Learning Code’ and their teacher will emphasize the
importance of this.
Please take the time to read this with your child.
