Message from the Headteacher
Dear Parent/Carer
Term 2 is well underway. The weather is changing and we
are having many more cold, wet or windy days. Please
dress your child for our Scottish weather – children will
be out each day, at break and lunch and also for outdoor
learning with their classes.
Thank you for your support in these challenging times.
Unfortunately, the Covid situation is not improving, so we
are continuing to follow strict protocols in school. Our
staggered start/finish will continue, along with our
handwashing routines. Children will still have a playground
per class and sit with their class at lunchtime.
We are using Seesaw in classes and to link with home,
please encourage your child to share the work they are
doing with you. This platform would
be used if we had to go to any kind
of home learning.
In Partnership,
Susan Lauder
Message from the Office
Dear Parent/Carer
As always, can I remind all parent/carers to please
call the office if your child/ren will be absent from
school. Following up on absence each day takes up a
significant amount of office time.
All children who returned consent forms will be
having the flu nasal spray on Friday 6th November.
A reminder, school is closed for a long weekend,
Friday 20th and Monday 23rd November.
Best regards,
Kerry Smith
A reminder, that P1-3 children are entitled to free
school meals and parent/carers of P4-7 children who
do not have free school meals should pay for meals
through ParentPay.
This is the latest menu. Please discuss choices with
your child/ren.
‘Wear Purple Day’ was a huge success and we were
delighted to raise £220. A big ‘thank you’ to
everyone who contributed!
.
We were very grateful to Louise from the Corra
Foundation who delivered a pumpkin for every child in
our school! These will be brought home along with a
tealight to be placed in your home/garden. We are
hoping that this will allow children to go for a walk, at
night, along with their families, to view some of the
fabulous designs.
We had our first
virtual assembly
last Friday. This
was a great
success. The
children all enjoyed
‘seeing’ each other
virtually and
sharing what they
have been learning
in class.
All classes are
really enjoying
participating in PE
lessons outdoors.
Our teachers are
super creative,
giving the children
lots of new
experiences!

Technology is well used across the school. Children
have one lesson per week, focusing on a new IT skill.
They then have access to iPads and laptops to support
the curriculum.
All children have log on details for Glow, Seesaw,
Education City and Sumdog. Please pop a note in your
child’s pupil planner if you need any further
information here.
