Headteacher Bulletin #34 (12/5/23) Dear Parent/Carer Another four day week … another busy one! This week P7 had another great visit to Kilwinning Academy – enjoying morning of high jump, netball, football, dodgeball, a chat in the P.E. classroom and Home Economics. They are back on Tuesday morning, meeting at their usual spot at 8.55am. This is for a morning with the Technical department. We will return to school around 11am. The Science department will be coming to Blacklands to work with P7 on Wednesday morning. Our lunchtime clubs have been busy, Mrs Taylor running the tennis club on a Monday and Friday and Mrs Rennie taking the running club on Tuesday and Thursday. Miss Irvine and Miss Hamilton are supporting Rebecca to work with our dance team – who are perfecting a final routine for the North Ayrshire Schools final
competition which is on 5 th June. Next week Primary 3/4 are visiting Dundonald Castle. Please remember to send back any forms if you have not already and to send your child dressed for the day (potentially with suncream and a hat!) On Tuesday, there is another transition coffee and a chat meeting at Kilwinning Academy for P7 and their parent/carers. Please try to attend if you can. Selected Primary 7 will be representing our school at the North Ayrshire Athletics championships at St Matthew’s playing fields next Thursday. Details to follow. Next week is ‘mental health awareness’ week and we will be delivering lessons to raise awareness across the school. We use MyHappyMind weekly to support health and
wellbeing – ask your child about this at home. As the weather is looking like it is going to improve, please send your child to school with suncream if required. Hats in a bag are also useful. As usual, if you have any questions, queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me: [email protected] In Partnership, Susan Lauder
