Due to the Covid situation and the dreadful weather in
the area, it made trapping much more difficult. Even so, the
rescue still managed to trap and neuter 70 cats, which was
down on the 160 from the year before. There were no Covid
guidelines so June sought advice and got permission from
the police who advised her she could continue to TNR since
it was welfare issue. Likewise, her vets were able to continue
neutering for the same reason.
June said:“It can be very stressful out in all weathers

I see kittens having kittens and it is heart-breaking.There is

mother, daughter, or granddaughter so the kittens can be
born with deformities.”
One current resident of Ceredigion Cat Rescue is
Sylvester, who is the only survivor of one litter. He battled
cat flu, had diarrhoea, and just when he was starting to feel
better, he developed a severe inner ear infection. He is on
a specific diet as anything too rich causes him digestive
problems. He also has cerebella hyperplasia (known as
wobbly kitten syndrome) and June hopes that at some
point in the future he will find a home where his owner can
cater for his special needs and offer him a home for life.
