Aesop's Fable: The Crow and the Mussels

นิทานเรื่องนี้สอนให้รู้ว่า
This story teaches that

จงอย่าเชื่อคำพูดของใคร
โดยปราศจากการไตร่ตรอง

กาตัวหนึ่งออกไปหาอาหารที่ชายทะเล และพบหอยแมลงภู่ตัวหนึ่ง มันจึง
พยายามใช้จะงอยปากของมันแงะเปลือกหอยนั้น แต่ก็ไม่มีท่าทีว่าฝาหอยจะเปิด
ออก กาอีกตัวบินผ่านมาจึงแนะนำว่า "ทำไมเจ้าไม่ลองคาบหอยขึ้นไปสูง ๆ แล้ว
ปล่อยให้มันตกลงมากระแทกกับโขดหินดูล่ะ" เจ้ากาจึงลองทำตามที่กาอีกตัว
แนะนำ พอเปลือกหอยแตกออก กาตัวที่ให้คำแนะนำก็รีบบินมากินหอยที่อยู่ใน

เปลือกทันที ก่อนจะหัวเราะเยาะและบินหนีไป

One of the crows went out to find food at the seashore. and found
a mussel So it tried to use its beak to pry the shell. But there was

no sign that the shell would open. Another crow flew past and
suggested that "Why don't you try to carry the clam up high and

let it fall and hit the rocks?" The crow tried to do as the other
crow suggested. when the shell is broken The crow giving advice
immediately flew in and ate the mollusks in its shell. before he

laughed and flew away.

น้ำเห็นงูเลื้อยผ่านอยู่ริมน้ำ น้ำก็พูดขึ้น
ว่า"ไอ้ตัวเล็กกระจ้อยร่อย เห็นข้าไหมว่าข้า
ตัวใหญ่กว่าเจ้านัก ข้าสามารถไหลไปได้ไกล
โข ไหลจากประเทศหนึ่งสู่อีกประเทศหนึ่ง
เห็นไหมว่าข้าไหลไปได้ไกลแสนไกลเลยที

เดียว"

งูได้ฟังดังนั้นแล้วก็พูดขึ้นว่า"ข้าเห็นแล้วว่าเจ้าใหญ่โตกว่าข้า แล้วก็รู้
ด้วยว่าเจ้าสามารถไหลไปได้ไกลแสนไกล แต่ข้าคิดว่าไม่เห็นจะดีตรง
ไหนเลย ในเมื่อเจ้าต้องถูกบังคับให้ไหลไปตามลำน้ำ ไม่มีอิสระไหลไป

ตามความชอบใจได้เลย ส่วนข้าแม้จะตัวเล็กกระจ้อยร่อย แต่ข้า
สามารถไปไหนมาไหนได้อย่างอิสระ ไม่มีใครมาบังคับ"

The water saw a snake slither past the water's edge. The
