PLAY IT AGAIN SAV! (Scottish Aged Veterans) ‘Play it Again SAV! focuses
on tackling the loneliness

Singing Together with the ScottishPower Foundation

We received generous continued support from
the ScottishPower Foundation during 2017, for
the delivery of 50 live concerts across Scotland.
These performances involve older people in care
homes across the whole of Scotland, with the aim
of reducing levels of social isolation and loneliness
experienced by people in care. The project will
reach approximately 1,000 people in care.

Feast of Beethoven with Solway Sinfonia Stirling Orchestra – picking up a new
instrument!
To celebrate its 20th year the Solway Sinfonia gave
its first concert of the season in support of Music in Big thanks to members of Stirling Orchestra who

Community Choir for supporting Music in Hospitals
& Care this year. Nominated by Love Music
Assistant, Hannah Ross, who used to work with the
MiHC team, the choir raised over £1,000 for our
musicians’ work at a hospital in Edinburgh.

Thanks to the Church of the Good Shepherd
Murrayfield members for supporting us at their
scrumptious “Summer Fruits” evening in the summer
of 2017. MiHC musicians Colin Bryce and Gina Baker
gave a fantastic performance at the church and the
event raised over £600 for MiHC. Thank you all for
your support and for the INCREDIBLE cakes.▲

Birthday Ceilidh

Many thanks to Moira Wright and everyone who
attended her glorious birthday ceilidh in May for
raising £226. Thanks to your generosity the ceilidh
spirit will continue onto the wards of hospitals and

Fife Reelers Ball – a reel, a burl,
a jig and a hop!

The 10th Anniversary Fife Reelers Ball was held
in St Andrews in April this year and raised £2,500.
Dancers came from far and wide from Fife,
Inverness, Edinburgh, south of the border and Milan!
We’re hugely grateful to the organisers and guests
of the Fife Reelers Ball for this fantastic support – the
funds they raised will be used to provide a series of
live musical performances across Fife.▲
