HARI RAYA

A holiday is a day set aside by custom or by
law on which normal activities, especially
business or work including school, are
suspended or reduced. Generally, holidays
are intended to allow individuals to celebrate
or commemorate an event or tradition of
cultural or religious significance.

DEEPAVALI

Diwali is a festival of lights and one
of the major festivals celebrated by
Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some
Buddhists, notably Newar Buddhists.
The festival usually lasts five days
and is celebrated during the Hindu
lunisolar month Kartika.

HARI PONGGAL

Pongal, is also referred to as Thai
Pongal, is a multi-day harvest festival
of South India, particularly in Tamil
community. It is observed at the start
of the month Thai according to Tamil
solar calendar, and this is typically
about January 14.
