NMS students celebrated Math week from Grade 5 students pitching
September 15th to September 19th, 2019. their projects on calculators
During this week, the entire school participated
in different Math activities as they designed to at the Math Symposium
challenge their thinking and develop their
problem solving skills. The theme for this year’s Moksh Vora - Grade 4B
Math week was “Evolution of computational Presenting Napier bones
technology”. Students researched the different

The students explored the heritage, culture and history of the United Arab
Emirates as we celebrated 'Arabic & Islamic Week.' Various cultural areas were
created, with monuments and icons symbolic to the UAE. They got an opportunity
to speak about the multicultural country they live in and what they love about this
country. The students of KG participated in quiz conducted by teachers in their
respective classes, to gauge their knowledge about UAE. During their dance and
music lessons, students learnt the traditional dance of UAE and songs praising this
beautiful country.

At NMS we are dedicated to embedding our Chairman’s vision that
encourages our students to grow and develop their personal and
interpersonal qualities through the GEMS Jewels of Kindness Initiative.

There are 4 Jewels – Ruby for Empathy, Topaz for Helpfulness, Emerald for
Compassion, and Sapphire for Respect.

When a student is reported to have done something kind, they are
rewarded with the GEMS Jewels of Kindness sticker, certificate, or badge.

At NMS our students participated with enthusiasm and showed their skills in
various event like speaking extempore, reciting poems and speeches. It was a delight
to watch students participate in these events.

Hollywood celebrities and the children loved listening to
him. Gelong also shared how children could be mindful

every day and to make it a part of their lives.

Reading with animals has been found to have social,
educational and emotional benefits. We at NMS have had
the utmost pleasure of having them over every year for
three consecutive years now. This educational programme
helps create a positive association with both books and
animals, and raises the confidence of children who might
otherwise be nervous when reading out loud, says
Karalynn Thomson, founder of the Animal Agency. READ
dogs are trained, registered and certified therapy animals
who serve as classroom reading tutors, assisting children
with their quiet presence and helping them develop a love
of reading. Introduction of this programme in the lower
primary has boosted students’ reading skills and we are
delighted to see how confident and fluent readers our
students have blossomed into.

A stage where every student had a role to play!
We collaborated with the HIVE to give our students nothing but the best exposure
in the field of drama. In the journey of preparing for a drama performance, our
students learnt to speak with clear diction and appropriate intonation. By playing
the roles of different characters in different contexts, they were made ready to
explore the creative use of language. In other words, through exploring drama,
our student's English language experience was enriched and language abilities
were enhanced. Their performances were spectacular and their collaboration left
the audience mesmerized. Congratulations to these budding actors, directors and
scriptwriters.

We had a spectacular day at NMS on 12th February 2020, as
the Kindergarten students geared up for the Annual Sports
Meet. The theme for the 6th Annual Sports Meet was,
‘Hayyakum’ which means 'welcome'. Sports and games have
become an integral element of education as it helps in an all-
round development of our children. Our chief guest for the
occasion was Ms. Nikita Bianca, a star athlete, who declared
the Sports Meet open. The Kindergarteners performed
showcasing the skills they have learnt so far in the various
sports that are taught. The students also enthusiastically
participated in the various stations set up, along with their
parents.
Our Principal, Ms. Fatima Martin inspired both students and
parents on the importance of sports. Parents were led
through a warm-up session before participating in the
various challenges set up.
