ಅಜಯಿ ಒಂದು ನೆನಪ್ು

ನಾನು ನಮ್ಮ ಅಜಿ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೊೇಗಿದೆಿ. ನಂಜನಗೂಡಿನ ಹತಿರತ ಒಂದು ಊರು. ಮ್ಮೈಸೂರಿನಂದ ಸುಮಾರು ೩೦ ಕ್ತ.ಮಿೇ.
ಅಮ್ಮನ ಊರು. ಆಡಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಊರು. ಹಬ್ಬದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಲ ನಮ್ಮಮಲ್ಲರ ವಾಸವತ ೆ ಅಲೆಲ. ತುಂಬಾ ದಿನವೆೇ ಆಗಿತುತ ಅಲ್ಲಗಲ ೆ
ಹೊೇಗಿ ಅಜಿ ಕಾಲ್ವಾದ ಮ್ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಕಡೆ ಯೊೇಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆಿೇ ಇಲ್.ಲ ಹಿೇಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲಲ ಆ ಊರಿಗೆ
ಹೊೇಗುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆಯಿತು. ಅಮ್ಮ ಹೊೇಗಲ್ು ಇಷ್ಟಪ್ಟ್ಟರು ತವರು ಇಲ್ದಲ ೆ ಹೊೇದರು ತವರೂರು ಮ್ರೆಯಲ್ು
ಕಷ್ಟವೆ ಸರಿ. ಅಮ್ಮ ಮ್ತುತ ನಾನು ಊರಿನ ದಾರಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಹೊರಟ್ವು.
ಊರ ಬಾಗಿಲ್ಲ್ಲಲ ಕಾಲ್ುವೆ, ಕಪ್ುಪ ಮ್ಣು,ು ಮ್ಳೆಗಾಲ್ದಲ್ಲಲ ನಾವು ಚಪ್ಪಲ್ಲ ಹಾಕ್ತಕೊಂಡು ಹೊೇದರು ಅದು ಶೂ ಆಗಿ
ಪ್ರಿವತಿಯಸಿದ ಆ ಹಳೆೇಕಾಲ್ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬ್ಂತು.ಈಗ ಪ್ರವಾಗಿಲ್,ಲ ಡಾಂಬ್ರ್ ಹಾಕ್ತದ ರಸೆತ. ಆ ಕಷ್ಟದಿಂದ ಪ್ಾರಾದೆವು
ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಆಗಿನ ಖುಷಿ ಚ್ೆಂದದ ರಸೆಯತ ಲ್ಲಲ ಕಾಣಲ್ಲಲ್.ಲ ಸಮಾರಂಭಕೆಕ ಹೊರಟ್ರು ಹುಟ್ಟಟ ಬೆಳೆದ ಮ್ನೆ ನೊೇಡುವ
ಆಸೆ ಅಮ್ಮನಗೆ, ನಾವು ಮ್ನೆ ಕಡೆ ಹೊರಟ್ೆವು. ಅಮ್ಮ ಆಡಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಮ್ನೆ ಪ್ಾಳು ಬಿದಿ ಮ್ನೆ ಆಗಿತುತ. ಗೊೇಡೆಗೆ ನೆೇತು
ಹಾಕ್ತದ ಕೆಲ್ವು ಅಸಪಷ್ಟ ಭಾವಚಿತರಗಳು ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಗೊೇಡೆ ಕುಸಿದಿತು.ತ ಗಟ್ಟಟಯಾದ ಮ್ರದ ತೊಟ್ಟಟಲ್ು ನನು ಕೆಲ್ಸ
ಇನೂು ಮ್ುಗಿದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದೂ ಇನೂು ನೂರು ಬಾಣಂತನ ಮಾಡಲ್ು ಕಾಯುತಿತತ ು.ತ ಅಜಿ ಕೆೈ ಚ್ಾಚಿ ಅಪಿಪಕೊಳಳಲ್ು ಮ್ನೆಯ
ಬಾಗಿಲ್ಲ್ಲಲ ಇರಲ್ಲಲ್ಲ. ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಜನರಿಲ್ದಲ ೆಯೆ ಅಜಿ ಮ್ನೆ ಮ್ುರುಕಲ್ು ಒಂಟ್ಟ ಮ್ನೆಯಾಗಿತುತ. ಅಮ್ಮನ ಕಣುಲ್ಲಲ ನೇರಿತು.ತ
ಅಜಿ ಇದರಿ ೆ ಮಾತರ ಮ್ನೆ ‘ಮ್ನೆ’ ಅನಸುತತದೆ ಅಂತ ನನಗನಸಿತು. ಅಜಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಕಾಣದಂತೆ ೫೦ ಪ್ೆೈಸೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಟದಿನುು
ನೆನೆದೆ ಹಾಗೆ ಮ್ನೆ ನೊೇಡುತಿದತ ಿ ಹಾಗೆ ಪ್ಕಕದ ರಮ್ಮೇಶನ ಮ್ನೆಯವರು ಅಮ್ಮನನುು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದರು ಕಷ್ಟ ಸುಖ
ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಸಮಾರಂಭಕೆಕ ಹೊರಟ್ೆವು, ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಸವಲ್ಪ ಬಿಡುವಿನ ಸಮ್ಯದಲ್ಲಲ ಆಚ್ೆ ಬ್ಂದೆ, ಅಲೆಲೇ ನಮ್ಮಜಯಿ ತಮ್ಮನ ಮ್ನೆ
ನಾನು ಚಿಕಕವಳಿದಾಿಗ ಆಡಲ್ು ಹೊೇಗುತಿದತ ಿ ಮ್ನೆ. ಮ್ನೆ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸಣುದಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಝರಿ ಹರಿಯುತಿತತ ುತ. ಚಿಕಕದಾದರೂ
ತುಂಬಾ ಚ್ೆನಾುಗಿತುತ. ಕಾಲ್ು ಚ್ಾಚಿ ನೇರಿನಲ್ಲಲ ಆಡಿದ ನೆನಪ್ು. ಒಂದು ಸಲ್ ನೊೇಡೊೇಣ ಎಂದು ಹೊರಟ್ೆ, ಆಗಿನ
ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಝರಿ ಕೊಳಚ್ೆ ಗುಂಡಿಯಾಗಿತುತ. ಕುತೂಹಲ್ಕೆಕ ಅಲೆಲೇ ಇದಿ ಸಳಥ ಿೇಯರನುು ಕೆೇಳಿದೆ ಅಲ್ಲಲ ಒಂದು ಸಣು
ಕಾಲ್ುವೆ ಇತತಲ್ಲ ಅಂತ, ಅವರು ನಕುಕ ನೇವು ತುಂಬಾ ವಷ್ಯದಿಂದ ಈ ಊರಿಗೆ ಬ್ಂದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಲ್ವಲ ೆೇ ಆಗ ಇತುತ ಈಗ ಇಲ್ಲ
ಎಂದು ಅಸಹಾಯಕತೆಯ ನಗು ಬಿೇರಿದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ಅಮ್ಮನಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಲ ನೇರು ಬ್ಂದ ಹಾಗೆ ನನಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಲ ಕಣ್ೇು ರು ಕಣುನುು ಒದೆಿ
ಮಾಡಿತು.
ಹಾಗೆ ತಿರುಗಾಡುತಿದತ ಾಗಿ ದೊಡದಡ ಾದ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ನೊೇಡಿದೆ. ಪ್ಾರಥಮಿಕ ಆರೊೇಗೆ ಆಸಪತೆರ ಎಂದು ಬ್ರೆದಿತುತ. ಜನ
ಕಾಣಲ್ಲಲ್ಲ. ಕೆೇಳಿದರೆ ಡಾಕಟರ್ ಬ್ಂದರೆ ತಾನೆೇ ಜನ ಆ ಕಡೆ ಹೊೇಗೊೇದು ಎಂದರು ಒಬ್ಬ ವೃದರಿ ು. ಅಷ್ಟ್ೊಟಂದು ಜನ
ಡಾಕಟರ್ ಪ್ದವಿ ಪ್ಡೆದರು ಈ ಆಸಪತೆರಗಳು ವೆೈದೆರನುು ಕಂಡಿಲ್ಲ ಅನುುವುದು ಮ್ನಸಿಿಗೆ ಬೆೇಸರ ತಂದಿತು. ವಷ್ಯಕೆಕ
ಬ್ರುವ ಆ ಡಾಕಟರ್ ಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲಲ ಹೊೇಗುತಾರತ ೆ ಎನುುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ೆು ಮ್ೂಡಿತು. ಇದೆೇನು ಜನ ಸೆೇವೆ ಅನಸಿತು. ಪ್ುಡಿಗಾಸಿಗೆ
ತಮ್ಮ ಊರನುು ಬಿಟ್ುಟ ನಗರ ಸೆೇರಿ ಶ್ರೇಮ್ಂತರ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗಳನುು ಗುಣಪ್ಡಿಸಲ್ು ಈ ವೃತಿತ ಬೆೇಕೆ? ನನಗೆ ಬೆೇಡ
ಅನಸುತಿತತ ು.ತ ಅಲ್ಲಲಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಸಮ್ಯವಾಗಿತುತ. ನಾನು ಮ್ನಸಿಿನಲ್ಲಲ ನಕುಕ ನನುದಲ್ದಲ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟ್ೆ.

ಅಂದು ಅಜಿ ಕಾಲ್ದಲ್ಲಲ ಸರಿಯಾದ ರಸೆತ ಇರಲ್ಲಲ್.ಲ ಆಸಪತೆರ ಇರಲ್ಲಲ್.ಲ ಆದರೂ ನಾವು
ಖುಷಿಯಿಂದ ನಾವು ಬ್ರುತಿತದೆವಿ ು. ಒಂದು ಬಾರಿಯಾದರೂ ಊರಿಗೆ ಸಕಾಯರಿ ವೆೈದೆರು
ಬ್ರುತಿತದರಿ ು ಕಾಲ್ಲಗೆ ಕಪ್ುಪ ಮ್ಣುು ಮ್ಮತುತತಿತತ ುತ. ಆಡಲ್ು ಝರಿ ಇತು.ತ ತಿಂಡಿ ಮಾಡಲ್ು ಅಜಿ
ಇದರಿ ು. ಈಗ ರಸೆತ ಇದೆ ಕಣ್ನು ಲ್ಲಲ ನೇರಿದೆ, ದೊಡಡ ಆಸಪತೆರ ಇದೆ, ವೆೈದೆರಿಲ್ಲ, ಝರಿ ಇಲ್,ಲ
ಅಜನಿ ೂ ಇಲ್.ಲ

ನನು ಬಾಲ್ೆದ ದಿನಗಳು ನನು ಜೇವನದ ಸುವಣಯ ದಿನಗಳು . ಹಾರುವ ಗಾಳಿಪ್ಟ್ಗಳು, ಮ್ಣ್ನು ಮ್ನೆಗಳು, ಹಸಿರು
ಪ್ಕ್ಷಿಗಳು, ನಗು ಮ್ತುತ ವಿನೊೇದ — ಇವು ನನು ಬಾಲ್ೆದ ಅಚುುಮ್ಮಚಿುನ ನೆನಪ್ುಗಳು. ಆಹ್! ಎಂತಹ ಅದುುತ
ದಿನಗಳು.
ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಲ ಮ್ಣ್ುನ ಒಲೆಗಳನುು ಬ್ಳಸಲಾಗುತಿತತ ು.ತ ಒಲೆಯ ಅಡುಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಮ್ಮನ ಕೆೈ ರುಚಿ ಸೆೇರಿಸಿ ಆಹಾರ
ಹತುತ ಪ್ಟ್ುಟ ರುಚಿಯಾಗಿರುತಿತತ ು.ತ ಅಮ್ಮ ಅಡುಗೆ ತಯಾರಿಸುವಾಗ, ಮಾರುಕಟ್ೆಟಯಿಂದ ಬ್ಹಳಷ್ುಟ ಸರಕುಗಳನುು
ಹೊತುತಕೊಂಡು ಬ್ರುವ ಎತಿನತ ಗಾಡಿಗಳನುು ನೊೇಡುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲ್ಸವಾಗಿತುತ .
ಗಿಲ್ಲ-ಲ ದಾಂಡು, ಕುಂಟ್ೆಬಿಲೆಲ, ಚಿನು-ದಾಂಡುಳ, ಮ್ರಕೊೇತಿ, ಲ್ಗೊೇರಿ ಮ್ತುತ ಗೊೇಲ್ಲ-ಆಟ್ ನನು ನೆಚಿುನದಾಗಿತುತ .

ಶುಕರವಾರದ ದಿನ ಸಂತೆ ಆಯೊೇಜಸಲಾಗುತಿತತ ುತ. ಅಲ್ಲಲ ವಾೆಪ್ಾರಿಗಳು ತರಕಾರಿ,
ಹೂವು, ಹಣು,ು ಆಟ್ಟಕೆಗಳು,ಬ್ಟ್ೆಟಗಳು ಮ್ತುತ ಇನೂು ಹಲ್ವಾರು ವಸುಗತ ಳನುು
ಮಾರಾಟ್ ಮಾಡಲ್ು ಬ್ರುತಿತದಿರು. ಸಂತೆಗೆ ಹೊೇಗುವುದು ನನು ನೆಚಿುನದಾಗಿತುತ.

ಮಿತವಾಗಿದುಿ ಕಾಲ್ ಕರಮ್ಮೇಣ ಅದು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಿಣಮಿಸುತದತ ೆ.

Children’s Day Celebrations

Celebrating one’s childhood and that too in a school is the best throwback memory a school
learner can have, especially if there is one day dedicated to that. Children’s Day is one such event
that is celebrated in every school of India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Chacha Neh-
ru on 14 November.
Daffodils Foundation for Learning celebrated the day with many staff members and sub staff
contributing in their own capacities. An online video comprising songs, dances and ramp-walk
performed by teachers, administration/CCA members and sub-staff members was shared with all
the students and uploaded on You Tube. Students were highly appreciative of the programme and
the efforts of the school.

National Pollution Control Day

“Environmental pollution is an incurable disease. It can only be prevented.” –Barry Commoner

National Pollution Control Day is observed every year on 2 December. The key objectives are to
educate people about the importance of pollution control acts and making them aware about indus-
trial disasters. The day aims to bring awareness to people about prevention of air, soil, noise and
water pollution.
The students of class 6 presented a programme on this significant day.The MCs of the program
hosted the event with perfection. The students gave their best efforts; they reminded us about the
importance and preservation of our natural surroundings. A beautiful performance on the environ-

Founder’s Day

“If it must be enjoyed, then it must be done. And if it must be done, then it must be done well. If

Founder’s Day is celebrated on 11 August every year to commemorate the birth anniversary
of our Founder and Mentor (late) Sri P K Bheemaiah, who was known for his knowledge,
vision and values. It has been a tradition in DFL to organize various thought-
ful programmes on this day. The day was celebrated virtually and in a unique way.
The significance of the day was well brought out by sharing the information about the dy-
namic personality with the students. The students watched the iMovie and expressed their
love and respect to the man who gave us the motto “Do Well All You Do”.

Joy of sharing is an event that has been conceptualized to feel the joy and satisfaction
of sharing. It included sharing the excitement of watching a beautiful cultur-
al programme and the joy of learning how to look after our dear ‘Planet Earth’ a little bet-
ter.
Celebrating successful moments always spreads positivity. Milestones is one such initia-
tion: to look back at our success stories and new endeavors of every academic year by docu-
menting them. The Milestones of the academic year 2020-21 was physically handed over to
the members of the school management on 2 August. A virtual celebration was organized
in the evening to digitally release the document. It was a perfect amalgamation of pride and
joy as the Secretary, DESA, Mrs Madhuri Chengappa, clicked on the link to unravel the dig-
ital Milestones.

The journey of the school in achieving the milestones was shared by the teachers on the vir-
tual platform. The first one being the interview of a few students, parents and the heads of
the institution, conducted by ‘QtPi’, to bring the school to the front fore of the series, My
School Best School. Followed by it was the school being ranked no.1 in the category for
‘Holistic Development’ by the India Today magazine and awarding the school with ‘India
School Merit Award’.

The accomplishment of another mile stone by the students, participating in the world’s first
international Olympiad, ‘The Zenik International Olympiad’, and winning awards and
adding feathers to the cap of the school, was showcased. A mention of the award to our
Principal as ‘Visionary Principal’ for leadership in grooming and strengthening the re-
quired skills of the students was also highlighted.

The announcement of the sensational achievement of winning the ‘IMAGINE JUNIOR CUP’
for the theme ‘SENSE AND SAVE’, a global competition organized by Microsoft, brought
loud cheers from all. Our young innovators had conquered the innovation world with their fan-
tastic idea of measuring the amniotic fluid in pregnant women, using artificial intelligence
technology. The support by the team of teachers was also appreciated.
The school believes in instilling the values and life skills in the young generation so that they
inculcate them in their lives and become responsible human beings. Towards achieving this
goal, the school brought out the booklets with customized Life Skills and Value Education
curriculum wherein the life sketches of the famous characters from the epics to inspiring
personalities from all fields have been incorporated.
Following this was the digital release of the E-brochure that showcases the academic and non-
academic plethora of the school activities which provides a glimpse of school’s ethos. It was
indeed a visual treat.

The Milestones reflects the path the school has been taking
to accomplish the motto ‘DO WELL ALL YOU DO’, by
dedicating the Milestones to our beloved founder.

World Ozone Day Celebrations

DFL celebrated World Ozone Day on the 16 September 2021. The Students of grade 5
presented a beautiful program on this special day. They participated with zeal and enthusiasm
and displayed their talents on Teams by showcasing a variety of programmes.
The children prepared interesting videos about the depletion of the ozone layer. They
talked about anthropogenic influence on ozone layer and its consequences, and
suggested measures to preserve ozone layer and climate. They created slogans,
poems, and role play about ozone layer and its value to human life and ecosystem. The pro-
gram concluded with a very entertaining video on ozzy ozone.
The event was successful and enriching, all the participants learned about the global
environmental problem— depletion of ozone layer and its significance on flora and fauna.
