Pre hospital professionals, such as EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, and in-facility
hospital clinicians, are trained in BLS. Students get a two-year course completion card
after successfully completing the course. Please check with your employer to be sure
you're on the right track.
The American Heart Association's BLS course teaches learners how to identify various
life-threatening situations, administer high-quality chest compressions, offer adequate
ventilations, and utilise an AED as soon as possible. The American Heart Association
Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care reflects research and
teaching (ECC).
The AHA provides many choices for purchasing BLS. You have the option of taking a
complete classroom course, a blended learning course (HeartCode BLS plus a hands-
on skills session), or purchasing extra course materials. Select one option from the list
