PARENTS: VISIBLE IMAGE OF GOD
Editorial Board...
Parents are the visible images of the invisible God. As children, we have to give the utmost
importance to our parents as they make our lives comfortable with their hard work. In
return we need to fulfill their dreams by doing the best in whatever we are entrusted with.
The foremost responsibility is to study and make our parents proud by our actions.
Ultimately the aim of education is to create a better human being for tomorrow to remove
the darkness of ignorance. We all come to the temple of learning to educate and make our
future bright. This is the right time to do some sort of sacrifices and work hard to enjoy the
result of the future. As students, the first one could be the best option and it is beneficial for
a long run. Our parents do a lot for us and what we give in return is a point of reflection.
As children there are possibilities of making mistakes and as parents and the teachers, it is
their duty to correct you whenever and wherever it is required. When they correct us, we
must take it in a positive sense and rectify the mistake to not to commit the same mistake
and repeat it again. It’s very easy to handle a coconut but not a coconut tree.
This month the theme for the SFS E-Magazine PETALS is ‘Parents’ to make the children of
SFS aware about the importance of parents in their life. In a nuclear family there is less
chance and time for the parents and the children to sit together and talk. We all have become
so busy that we don’t know anything about our own family members. Due to the upsurge of
social media we are worried and concerned about the people outside the house, making the
social media unsocial. Whenever all the people are at home all are busy with either mobile
phone or TV that dominates the family and finally we say an excuse that there is no time.
Lets us make a home for a happy living which will constitute better individuals for the
nation. If we can find time for every other thing then we should also find time for the mutual
understanding and sharing that will lead to a home with full of love and care.
We are happy to present you the 4th edition of our E-magazine, PETALS and thanks for the
appreciation and support that you have given for the hard work put in the children and the
teachers. Your encouragement will be a boost for us. Kindly suggest the changes required for
the improvement in the magazine if any. Thank you.

Principal’s Message...
“To have a child is a gift from God - and
To have a parent is a to have God Himself”
Dear Readers of PETALS,
Greetings to all of you on this day as we meet once again through this SFS E-Magazine
‘PETALS’!
This month our students and Staff have come up with a various points of reflection on the
theme ‘Parents are the Visible Image of Invisible God’. The theme discusses on various points
as that invites us to ponder over:
• The love and care that our Parents show us
• The sacrifices that they make since our birth to their death
• Their suffering to make us suffering-free
• Our negligence in understanding them
• Our responsibility towards them
• Above all, an immense respect, honor and love that we must show to our Parents
Every parent is a ‘god’. God creates everyone; so also every parent creates a human person
through their parenting. A child learns, understands and gets inspired primarily from the
parents. Every good and bad that a child learns is from parents. Therefore, it is the prime
duty of every parent is to ensure that they become creators of good and humane society
through their parenting responsibility.
I at this juncture acknowledge and appreciate the hard work and effort put in by the Staff and
Students of Class VIII who have been instrumental in bringing out this month’s edition
through their writings.
I also thank the Editorial Board for their tireless efforts in putting together different data
and collating them well.
A sincere thanks to all the readers and parents of ‘SFS PETALS’ who have been our constant
inspiration, encouragement and support.
God Bless you all!
Live Jesus!

Solo Singing Competition
Music binds our soul, heart and emotions and it is the best method of relaxation. Music cheers the spirit and lightens the heart. To bring out
the hidden talent of our students Solo Singing Competition was organised in our school on 6 July 2022. The event took place in the auditori-
um of the school. The competition was divided into two categories from classes VI to VII and IX to X. The competition was judged by Fr.
Romeo and Mr.Roy. The competitors presented a variety of motivational songs and all of them sang to their best.
RakshaBandhan
Raksha means ‘safety’ and Bandhan means ‘bond’. Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is an important festival in India; it is dedicated to brothers
and sisters. On this auspicious day, sister ties a thread on her brother’s wrist and prays for his long and prosperous life. To strengthen this
bond, our school conducted ‘Rakhi making' Competition for classes VI to IX on 8 July 2022. The students participated in the competition
with zeal and enthusiasm and prepared beautiful Rakhis with wool, stars, beads, mirrors, flowers, etc.
Elocution Competition
An Elocution Competition was held on 20th August, 2022 for Classes VI to VIII. Elocution is an art of public speaking. It was held to
give the students self-boost and confidence to speak in front of a large audience. It enables them to create a connection with the audience
who is listening to them. Since Elocution helps the students to exhibit their oratory skills through self-expression and confidence, it plays an
important role in the formation, articulation and pronunciation of their speech. The Topics taken for the Elocution Competition were:-
1) Tips to speak confidently in public.
2) A child's worth is determined by exam results. Do you agree?
3) Exam fear is common among students. Substantiate it.
4) Recycling: A need of time.
5) Ways to enjoy pollution-free water.
The Elocution was based on self composed content and the Language for delivering the speech was in English. Two days before the competi-
tion, i.e. on 18th August, 2022 an elimination round was held. So, only those students who were selected in the elimination round competed
in the final round i.e. on 20th of August, 2022. The participants were strictly urged to have a good practice of their speech. The participants
did very well on the day of the competition. There were 18 participants in the final round. Fr. Romeo, Mr. Jose and Ms. Rini were the judges
for the Competition.
Independence Day Celebration
India got its independence in 1947 and we celebrated the 75th Independence Day this year. To inculcate the patriotic feelings among the
students the school had given due importance to it and conducted number of activities and program to show respect towards Mother India
and to remember and thank the freedom fighters who has sacrificed their lives for the cause of freedom.
In the morning at 8.00am all the students gathered at the Assembly Court for and Mr.Jose, the Maths Teacher hoisted the flag followed by
some cultural program in the School Auditorium. The program included Inter-House Patriotic Singing Competition. The meritorious
students, who performed very well in the secondary and senior secondary CBSE board exams, were felicitated during the function. The
management appreciated the hard work and the efforts put in by the students to make everyone proud through their performance in the
board exam. They were awarded with a memento and a certificate. The presence of the meritorious students was motivation and an inspira-
tion for all the students. The students along with the teachers took up the responsibility of decorating the stage to create an atmosphere of
the celebration. This really created an ambience in the school.
As part of the 75th Independence Day, that day on Aug 15, there was a basketball match (teachers Vs students) conducted in the school.
The teachers had the upper hand in the game therefore they won the match with ease. All the teachers and students went back home with
full of patriotism and love towards one’s own country.
The Spelling Bee Competition
The Spelling Bee Competition was organised on 6 August, 2022. The Spelling Bee is a Competition in which contestants are asked to spell
a broad selection of words which are usually with a varying degree of difficulty. The ability to understand more words allows the children
to become literate and enjoy reading at an extensive range. The valuable learning outcome of Spelling Bee results in the children gaining
competency over vocabulary and it allows them to excel at reading and writing. Likewise, the students from classes I to V were selected and
put into a group of 6 members of the 4 houses (Blue, Green, Red and Gold). They were given a broad selection of words to learn. There were
5 rounds of Spell-Bee in which the participants had to spell the words.
MsSimla was the spell-master, Mrs Eliza the time manager, Mr. Riddhi, for managing the Power Point presentation and Mrs.Sherly along
with Mrs Eliza were the judges for the Competition.

PARENTS ARE VISIBLE IMAGE OF GOD
‘God cannot stay everywhere, that's why he made parents’. When we are small kids our parents take care of us, help us, teach us good
habits and always tried to keep us happy. Parents are our first teachers. In our Indian culture parents are considered as God and even more
than God. Parents always do what is best for their children. But sometimes children don't understand them. Whatever a child needs,
his/her parents fulfill. Only those children who don't have parents understand the importance of having parents. No one can replace our
parents in this world. They listen to their child's problems and help them make the right choices. Every day we see how they struggle to
keep us happy. They sacrifice many things to provide us with everything we need. That's why we consider them as visible image of God.
Without the blessings of our parents nothing is achievable. ''God is visible in the form of parents''. So treat them with respect and worship
them

Parents ( visible image of god )
"We make them cry,
Who cares for us.
We cry for those,
Who never care for us."
This is the truth of life. It is strange! But true. Parents play an important role in our lives. They brought up their children despite of having
so many socio- economic difficulties. They fulfill our every demand and never complain about anything. In return it's our duty to give
respect, love and, care to them. Our inhumane way of behaving at one stage of our life such as ill-treating parents, disrespecting them, aban-
doning them on the streets and old age homes, must come to an end. They are the most valuable gift of the Almighty. They play an immense
role in the physical, mental, social and financial development of their children. Parents teach and guide us on the right path and differenti-
ate between wrong and right things in our life. Hence, recognize their love and sacrifice and nurture them in a right way.

Parents are the visible of God
Parents are the image of God. They are like God. They can do anything to protect their child and family. Father takes much pressure so that
his family and children can smile. Mother takes effort so that the children can be safe. Father struggles so his children can study. They don’t
know it is night or day but they fulfill our basic needs happily. No one can love like them. Our parents do so many things for us. In return
it’s our duty to give love and respect to them. Because our parents are so precious for us. Even God cannot replace our parents
- Ronak Sharma

When I think of an image of God, my first thought is a visible image of my parents. My existence is because of my parents. Parents raise
their children despite socio economic challenges. They fulfill every need of their children without any complain. There are many children who
have lost their parents at a very young age. We should be grateful to God that we have our parents. We, as their children have the prime
responsibility to be grateful to our parents and always keep our parents happy. Because, “One of the greatest titles in the world is parent,
and one of the biggest blessings in the world, is having parents to call Mom and Dad.”
