‫ﰲ ﺟﻮ ﻣﻠﺊ ﺑﺎﳊﺐ ﻭﺍﻟﻔﺮﺡ ﻭﺍﻟﻨﲀﺕ ﺍﶺﻴﻞ ﺷﺎﺭﻛﻨﺎ ﻓﳱﺎ ﺍﻟﻜﻮﻣﻴﺪﻳﺎﻥ ﺍﺳﺎﻣﺔ ﺟﻨﻜﲒ‬

‫ﻭﺍﲵﺔ ﻋﲆ ﺷﻔﺎﻫﻬﻢ ﺑﺘﻠﻚ ﺍﳌﺸﺎﺭﰷﺕ ﺍﶺﻴﻠﺔ ﻭﺍﻻﻃﺮﻭﺣﺎﺕ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﺋﻌﺔ ﺍﻟﱵ ﺷﺎﺭﻙ ﲠﺎ‬

‫ﺍﻟﻜﺸﺎﻓﺔ ﻟﻴﺴﺖ ﳎﺮﺩ ﻟﻌﺒﺔ ﺍﻭ ﺣﺼﺔ ﻟﻠﱰﻓﻴﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺴﻮﺩﺍﻧﻴﺔ ﺍﻟﻘﺪﳝﺔ ﺑﺸﺎﺭﻉ ﻋﲇ ﻋﺒﺪ ﺍﻟﻠﻄﻴﻒ‪ .‬ﰲ‬
‫ﻋﻦ ﺍﻻﻃﻔﺎﻝ ﻟﻜﳯﺎ ﻭﺳﻴﻠﺔ ﻓﻌﺎﻟﺔ ﻟﻠﺘﻌﺰﻳﺰ‬ ‫ﺑﺪﺍﻳﺔ ‪ ٩٠‬ﰒ ﺑﻌﺪ ﺫﻟﻚ ﺍﻧﺘﻘﻠﺖ ﳌﺮﺣﻠﺔ ﺍﳉﻮﺍﻟﺔ ﺑﻌﺸﲑﺓ‬

‫ﺍﻟﺘﻨﺎﻓﺲ ﺑﲔ ﺍﻟﺘﻼﻣﻴﺬ ﰲ ﺃﻱ ﻣﺪﺭﺳﺔ ﻹﳒﺎﺯ ﺍﳉﻮﺍﺋﺰ‬
‫ﻋﺎﳌﻴﺂ ﺃﻣﺮ ﻣﻬﻢ ﻟﻠﻐﺎﻳﺔ ﻹﺑﺮﺍﺯ ﻗﺪﺭﺍﲥﻢ ﻋﻦ ﻃﺮﻳﻖ ﺍﳌﺸﺎﺭﰷﺕ‬
‫ﻣﻊ ﺍﳌﺪﺍﺭﺱ ﺍﻷﺧﺮﻯ ﻭﺗﻘﺪﱘ ﺍﻷﻓﻀﻞ ﻟﺪﳞﻢ ‪ ،‬ﻓﺎﻟﻮﺻﻮﻝ ﻟﻠﻘﻤﺔ‬
‫ﻓﺮﺣﺔ ﻛﱪﻯ ﺗﻌﻮﺩ ﻟﻠﻄﻼﺏ ﺍﳌﺜﺎﺑﺮﻳﻦ ﻟﻘﻄﻒ ﲦﺎﺭﺟﻬﺪﱒ ﻭﻟﺘﺤﻘﻴﻖ‬

‫‪ ،‬ﺃﻣﺎ ﺍﻟﻄﺎﻟﺐ ﷴ ﻣﺼﻄﱼ ﻓﻘﺪ ﺫﻛﺮ ﰲ ﳏﻮﺭ ﺣﺪﻳﺜﺔ ﺃﻥ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺮﺣﻠﺔ ﲪﻠﺔ ﺇﲱﺎﺡ ﺑﻴﯺ ﻭﰎ ﺗﻮﺯﻳﻊ ﺍﻷﻛﻴﺎﺱ ﻭﺍﻟﻘﻔﺎﺯﺍﺕ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻌﴩﻭﻥ ﻣﻦ ﻳﻨﺎﻳﺮ ﺍﳊﺎﱄ ﲢﺮﻙ ‪ ٥‬ﻃﻼﺏ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺼﻒ ﺍﳊﺎﺩﻱ‬

Why Cambridge? From the Assistant General Manager

A few days ago, my colleague, the Academic Coordinator at Cambridge, and I were on our way to Bahry School
in Kafouri. As we parked in front of the school, just in front of the activity arena, she said, “I always like com-
“.ing here.” I asked her why. Without a moment of hesitation she said, “Because it feels like a school
Bahry does “feel like a school.” But so do all of the Cambridge Campuses, from Khartoum to Omdurman.
From the moment you enter a Cambridge reception area you know you are in a special place. e reception-
ists are friendly and helpful, well trained and knowledgeable, about all aspects of school and academic life.
Beyond the entry hall, visitors and parents discover a whole world of learning and personal development: kids
playing, others coming back from a break in ordered lines (we teach the importance of discipline and coopera-
tion), the majority in class rooms for lessons or in science and computer labs for practical instruction. In the
primary schools you can feel the energy from 6 to 12 year olds at the beginning of their intellectual journey.
In the hallways of our secondary schools you can feel the seriousness of middle and upper school students in
their continuing journey of discovery. ere is a feeling of excitement everywhere.

It is my privilege to be the Assistant General Manager and Chief Academic O cer here at Cambridge. A er
a long career in university teaching and administration in the UK and other countries, as well as years of in-
volvement with pre-collegiate secondary education in Africa, Central Asia and the USA, I consider my time at
Cambridge as the most rewarding and exciting of my career.
