Bedfont ward in this period have concentrated on ASB, Criminal Damage, and Drug supply.

Criminal damage
The ward team has worked hard this last 2 months to gather intelligence as to the identity of
youths causing damage, this has included tagging of buildings and motor vehicles and other
types of damage. As a result they have made 11 arrests for criminal damage and detected
over 130 offences by these young people, they have all been subject of various criminal
justice disposals.

ASB
The team has worked hard to keep a lid on anti social behaviour with extended patrols to
ensure that the effects of the Feltham Town centre dispersal zone are not displaced into the
Bedfont area. They have also assisted with the Policing of the dispersal zone at peak times.
They have made four arrests in Page Road for breach of ASBO.

Drug Supply
Working in conjunction with the Feltham west and North Feltham ward teams intelligence was
gathered relating to drug supply at Carlton House Staines road Bedfont, a warrant was
executed and two males arrested for possession of a substantial amount of crack cocaine.
Both these men will be charged with intent to supply.

Other matters
In this period the ward team has made 26 arrests for other matters including, Robbery,
Handling stolen goods and affray. They have assisted with a clean up on the Page Road
estate, held two street briefings, assisted a housing provider with an eviction of a problem
family, and instigated an introduction letter to new residents in the area which will be passed
on by local estate agents.

North Feltham ward in this period have concentrated on Alcohol related crime, ASB, drug
crime and continued to work on burglary linked to Cold Calling.

Alcohol Related Crime

North Feltham ward have led the Borough in this period working to combat the sale of alcohol
to underage people, and therefore reduce the incidence of alcohol related crime that is
committed by young people and to prevent them becoming the victims of crime as when
drunk they become more vulnerable. To achieve this the North Feltham SN team carried out
41 test purchase operations on the borough and I am please to say only had cause to issue 5
fixed penalty notices as the majority of Off Licenses refused to serve.

ASB
The North Feltham ward staff have worked hard to combat ASB in Feltham, carrying out extra
patrols at the weekends and late at night to support the Feltham Centre dispersal zone and as
a result have had the first conviction on the borough of a youth who refused to comply with a
Constables direction.

During the course of the ASB patrols the team-identified intelligence indicating an upcoming
gang fight and as a result of this intelligence Policing measures were put in place that
prevented the fight ad a possible fatality.

Drug Supply
As mentioned above the Team assisted with the successful warrant at Carlton House.
They also carried out a follow up warrant on the Best One Store at Bedfont Lane, after the
warrant at Harlington Road Best One. This led to a further 3 arrests for fraud related offences,
most recently they attended Hackney to arrest a male for attempted fraud at the West London
Suzuki in Bedfont.

Other matters
The team has worked on operation Liberal to target cold callers with DSS and LBH officers,
as part of this partnership PS Sinclair assisted a team of auditors who visited LBH Fraud
officers and as a result the Council Fraud dept has been put forward for an award. Vehicle
seizures for no insurance by the team have now reached 95 with 15 attached arrests.

The Hanworth Park ward team have concentrated their efforts over the summer period on
Youth Diversion, ASB and Road Safety.

Youth Diversion
The Team, which includes Joe Jones the schools officer for FCC have worked very hard in
partnership with the Hounslow Youth service to set up a Joint services summer youth project
to divert young people from crime. This involved
9 visits to The Gravesend Police training centre, The Fire Station at Feltham and The Army
base a Pirbright with targeted young people from the community to show them alternatives
and provide crime diversion activities. This culminated in an award ceremony held at Feltham
Fire station attended by The Deputy Mayor and MPA link member.

Other youth community events assisted with are the Butts Farm fun day, Hanworth carnival
and Foster carers Fun Day.

ASB
They have also worked in concert with the other ward team to Police the Feltham dispersal
zone and prevent any displacement. During the course of these patrols, which included the
Policing of the Feltham Green fair over the bank Holiday weekend, they have made arrests
for Public order offences and assault.

Road Safety
In support of the Borough drive to reduce Fatal road traffic accidents, the team has carried out
a BRAKE presentation and completed the training for Community Speed Watch Volunteers,
this project has now gone live with Police support and in due course the volunteers will go
SOLO and start to impact on vehicle speeds on the west area.

Other matters
The team has held 5 street briefings across the ward, held or attended 6 public meetings,
issued four Sec 59 police reform act warnings to motorcyclists and seized one motor vehicle
for no insurance.

In this period the team has concentrated on ASB Licensing and Youth diversion projects.

ASB
High visibility patrols have been conducted on the Butts Farm Estate and South Road estates
and the Team has supported the rest of the ward with Policing the Feltham, town centre
Dispersal Zone during the course of which one arrest was made for Public order offences.

PCSO Leighton has also identified a series of Tagging offences and collated the evidence the
suspect has now been identified and will soon be arrested this could provide a number of
clearups.

They assisted with the patrols of Feltham fair over the bank holiday weekend.
PS Chapman is also working closely with Hounslow Homes to deal with three families on the
ward that are causing ASB issues.

Licensing
The team has worked over the summer to Police the licensed premises on the ward this has
included visits to the Swan and Horse and Groom public House. They were also involved with
the North Feltham team in carrying out the test purchase operation during the course of which
they visited 14 premises and issued 2 fixed penalty notices to Off License staff.

Youth Diversion
The team has been involved in assisting the Extended schools co-ordinator Maeve Begley
with the Hanworth Summer Scheme to provide a variety of diversionary activities to young
people, this has included drama workshops, Street dance and many other events, they have
been involved in transporting the participants and facilitating the activities.

Other activities
The team have also street briefings, regular drop in surgeries and attended a number of
public meetings. During the period 1 sec 59 warning was issued 5 vehicles were seized for
no insurance and 1 vehicle taken off the road as unsafe.

A warrant was carried out in Main Street Hanworth under the firearms act, no firearms were
found but a male received a warning for possession of drugs.

The team has worked over this period on ASB, Drug crime, targeting prolific offenders.

ASB

This has been the main focus of the team and has involved them working late at weekends to
enforce the Central dispersal zone with high visibility patrols, during the course of these
patrols they have made arrests for affray and other public order offences, of particular note
have been repeated arrests of two young men for Breach of Bail, one of whom is currently
remanded in custody and both have had ASBO’s agreed by an emergency ASBAG.

Drug related crime

The team were instrumental in identifying the drug dealers at Carlton house and assisted in
the operation that led to the arrests, that have also carried out a further warrant at Walton
gardens in lower Feltham that led to another arrest for drug possession.

Targeting prolific offenders

The Feltham west team working with Bedfont team have identified a group of prolific
offenders and they have been targeting these individuals, this has led to one ASBO being
granted by the court and numerous arrests including aggravated burglary, and robbery,
totalling 21 this 2 months.

Other matters

The team has attended Fetes at Feltham hill school and Edward Pauling School, have
assisted with various Summer activities across the ward, identified a series of graffiti offences
that has led to an operation which is targeted to identify the offenders.
They have also assisted me with the Grosvenor Gates project which will as of the 10th
September lead to the installation of these gates on all the alleyways on the Rochester estate,
thanks for the funding of this is due to Kirti Sisodia on the community safety team at
Hounslow council.
