Community News

On February 28th, Sperry FCU sponsored The Maurer Foundation’s
Pink Bowl. The event was a fundraiser for The Maurer Foundation whose
mission is to save lives through breast health education. Two dozen Sperry
FCU employees and friends attended the Pink Bowl and enjoyed
challenging each other and displaying their bowling expertise.

On March 6th, Sperry FCU employees collaborated to provide a
homemade meal to the homeless for the North Shore Sheltering Program
in Glen Cove. Sperry FCU paid for the meal and our staff prepared it. The
North Shore Sheltering Program provides temporary overnight shelter to
those who are homeless and seeks to direct people in need of housing,
medical care and/or treatment to the proper agencies and facilities.

On April 8th, Sperry FCU
employees participated in the
Mineola High School Career Day
called “A Passport to Your Future”.
Students engaged in a roundtable
discussion with the Sperry FCU’s
staff, along with other local
professionals, to learn about
various career paths and real life
experiences on the job. Sperry FCU strives
to be involved in the local community and
provide philanthropic value as well as being
a premier financial institution.

Sperry Board Members Kevin Healy, Robert Fried and

Michael McGillicuddy attended the Credit Union National

Association Government Affairs Conference (CUNA GAC) in

Washington, D.C. in February where nearly 5,000 credit union

advocates from around

the nation came

together in our nation’s

capital to advocate for

the common cause of Sperry FCU Board with Senator

meet Congresswoman Kathleen Rice, Congressman Steve Israel,

Congressman Peter King, Congressman Lee Zeldin, Senator Chuck
