After a long and productive winter the arrival of ‫אדר שני‬
takes on an added dimension of ‫ שמחה‬at Torah Temimah! INSIDE:

Beginning with the true ‫ שמחה של תורה‬of our sixth grade ‫חגיגת כשר משנה‬
‫ סיום‬on Sunday, the week was filled with special events and  CLASS TRIPS TO KIDS
excitement ushering in the special days of ‫ ! אדר שני‬Ask your son
about the special puppet show for the younger grades, the ‘N ACTION
spectacular redecoration of the Torah Temimah hallways on Rosh
Chodesh and all of the amazing learning that took place this week.
You will surely agree that a day at Torah Temimah in never ordinary.

Moreinu HaGaon Rav Moshe Feinshtein, ‫ זצ"ל‬says that the ‫ פסוק‬here is teaching us that we
ourselves will have to make an accounting for everything that is given to us for use. We have been given
the gift of time. Have we used it properly, for Torah and Mitzvos? We have been given money. What have
we done with it? All of the resources, talents, abilities and capabilities with which we have been endowed
have been granted to us for use in our '‫עבודת ה‬. We will have to give a ‫ דין וחשבון‬for each and every one of
them to certify that they have been fully and properly used.

Is it permissible to wear a hospital bracelet or an ID card (as doctors commonly wear) outside an eruv?
Since a hospital bracelet and an ID card are not ornaments, they may not be worn. Similarly it is not permissible to wear
an item around one’s neck attached to a string if the string is not an ornament, but rather merely a means of securing the
item hanging from it, such as binoculars, glasses, or a pouch.

Is it permissible to use a household surveillance camera or to walk in front of a commercial one (e.g. apartment
building, hospital)?
One should not leave a household surveillance camera on over Shabbos. In the case of necessity, a Rav should be
consulted.
One should avoid passing by an active video camera for the specific purpose of being viewed by a doorman. In the case
of necessity, a Rav should be consulted.

May a woman be yotzei Havdalla over the phone during her hospital stay?
When a woman is in the hospital and there is no man present to make Havdalla for her, she should listen to Havdalla
being recited over the phone. Note that this option should be utilized only when it is not feasible for the woman to recite
Havdalla herself.
