Dear Parents ‫עמו"ש‬, ‫פרשת בא‬

It’s been another great week at Yeshiva! Rosh Chodesh Shevat is here 4:30 ‫זמן הדלקת נרות‬
and it was celebrated with true Torah Temimah ‫רוח‬.
INSIDE:
The preschool hallways boast colorful bulletin boards depicting our
beautiful ‫פירות‬- our cutest talmidim along with the inspiring message Science Section
‫ראש חודש מנין‬
contained in the name of the month ‫ שמרם ברכם טהרם‬. A special trip to the
‫מסיבה‬
botanical gardens was a great way to usher in the approach of ‫ טו בשבט‬. New computer
class for 9th grade
A ‫ ראש חודש‬assembly for grades 1-5 was held where the ‫ ברכות‬contest New Brochos
was launched. All this and more create the special Torah Temimah ‫ רוח‬that just
keeps getting better! Contest

Lessons From the Parsha…

)'‫וילכו ויעשו בני ישראל כאשר צוה ה' את משה ואהרן כן עשו (יב' כח‬

The Torah tells us that ‫ כלל ישראל‬did everything as '‫ ה‬said to ‫ משה‬and ‫ אהרן‬so they did.
‫ רש"י‬explains that this was a praise about ‫ כלל ישראל‬that they did not leave out any details for the ‫קרבן פסח‬. Even though
shechting a ‫ שה‬in ‫ מצרים‬was a great danger, being that it was the ‫ עבודה זרה‬of the ‫מצריים‬, still ‫ כלל ישראל‬did the ‫ מצוה‬with all
the details.

Why did the ‫ תורה‬say again at the end of the ‫ פסוק‬the words "‫ "כן עשו‬so they did, didn’t it already say earlier "‫"ויעשו‬
and they did? ‫ רש"י‬explains that the second time that it says "‫ "כן עשו‬is referring to ‫ משה‬and ‫ אהרן‬they also did what ‫הקב"ה‬
said to do.

‫ ר' משה פיינשטיין זצ"ל‬asks why would it be necessary for the ‫ תורה‬to write a special "‫ "כן עשו‬for ‫ משה‬and ‫ אהרן‬is it not
obvious that ‫ משה‬and ‫ אהרן‬would do what '‫ ה‬said to do? ‫ ר' משה זצ"ל‬answers that by bringing the Korbon Pesach we remember
the ‫ נסים‬that '‫ ה‬did by passing over the Yiddishe homes. One might think that ‫ משה‬and ‫ אהרן‬are so ‫ חשוב‬and of course always
remember all the ‫ נסים‬that '‫ ה‬did for ‫ כלל ישראל‬so they don’t need the extra reminder of the Korbon Pesach or any other
mitzvah that reminds us of our ‫ בטחון‬and ‫ אמונה‬in '‫ה‬. Therefore the ‫ פסוק‬says these two words "‫ "כן עשו‬teaches us that ‫ משה‬and
‫ אהרן‬also did the ‫ קרבן פסח‬just like everyone else.

Sometimes, we find that ‫ חז"ל‬made different ‫ גזרות‬in order that one should not come to be ‫ עובר‬on a ‫דאורייתא‬. A person
may think that I am so careful in that area that the ‫ גזרה‬doesn’t apply to me at all. Thinking that way is a mistake because a
person can never be sure of himself. As the ‫ משנה‬in ‫ פרקי אבות‬says: "‫ "אל תאמין בעצמך עד יום מותך‬do not believe in yourself until
the day of your death. Meaning a person constantly needs to be on guard and make sure that his ‫ יצר הרע‬is not winning the
battle in any area one that he thinks he’s perfect in.

Garbage can lids that are not attached may be replaced. However, a
lid attached with hinges may not be reattached if it has become
detached.
Is it permissible to tie a garbage bag?
It is not permissible to tie a garbage bag prior to throwing it out
with a double knot, with a knot that is tied with a bow on top of the
knot, or with the type of knot that is similar to a single knot on a
thread (i.e. created by collecting all the ends of the open bag and
forming them into a knot). Tying the bag with a single knot is
questionable; one should consult one’s Rav.
Is it permissible to tie a garbage bag in order to make it smaller
so that it will fit the garbage can?
When a garbage bag is tied so that it will fit the garbage can, if it is
generally disposed of without being un-knotted, this type of tying is
not permissible on Shabbos.

The Yeshiva is excited to announce
the start of a New Computer Class

for our 9th grade boys.

The class will take place once a week and will cover Basic
Computer Concepts and the Microsoft Office suite. Our goal for this class
is for our students to understand the function of all computer parts, the
role of the computer operating system, creating documents using some of
the advanced features in Microsoft Word, creating a spreadsheet using
Microsoft Excel, its mathematical formulas, and building a PowerPoint
presentation.

Everything taught in this class will be fundamentals that will help
the boys navigate through today's technological world and a requirement
in today's workplace environment. The class take place in our CIJE
Computer Lab and will consist of instructional and hands on segments.
The boys will be following a textbook and include weekly assignments and
projects. The course will be taught by Mr. Dovid Teitelbaum, our Lab
Manager and Science teacher. Mr. Teitelbaum has a degree in
Information Technology, is a certified computer technician, and is looking
forward to teaching this class.

‫עשרה‬. The ‫ מדת החודש‬is ‫ – חסד‬kindness. We

The students observed a really amazing science principle
called the “toroidal vortex effect” basically it’s the way
whirlpools and fog rings are formed. We used a vortex
generator to create our own water vapor rings and saw

the gas and fluid form circles of visible gas!
