"My designs are created so that they can be effortlessly matched with any accessories or jewelry on a daily basis," addressed Pantira. This quote shows how deeply Pantira's beliefs affect her work; her way of thinking about design makes HONILÉ stand out as they make clothes that can be worn on their own or with other clothes in your closet. She addresses that she always makes sure that every piece lives up to the high standards of the brand because she has an eye for quality. She emphasizes that the tailored method makes customers feel special and valued, thus her team puts love into every piece they make. "We use grade-A sewing and offer tailor-made options," she stated. HONILÉ in-house manufacturing is an example of this dedication, as she supports her choice as a way to maintain quality and the image of her brand. "Thai people often give more value to brands from countries like Italy, France, and Korea,” said Pantira. When being asked about the opportunity for Thai brands to grow, Pantira is honest and straightforward about how Thai brands are seen. She knows that local brands are not being appreciated as much when compared to other countries’ brands. Thus, she is even more motivated to make HONILÉ a well-known brand name around the world. Even though the task is difficult, she is determined to make the brand become acknowledged. Pantira Ho 27 I Enterpreneur, Fashion enthusiast, Founder of HONILÉ [INTERVIEW] PANTIRA HO'S IDEA OF EASYELEGANCEISHONILÉ In 2022, Pantira Ho established HONILÉ, a Thai fashion brand known for its versatile, unique designs and high quality, aiming to enhance the global presence of Thai fashion. [INTERVIEW] MOLLIE& MOORE: CHUTIPON WATTHANASIRICHAIPORN'S MIXOF SEXYANDSWEET By Chinothai Ho AN EXCLUSIVE TALK WITH THE CREATIVE MIND BEHIND THE RISING ONLINE CLOTHING BRAND MOLLIE & MOORE, CHUTIPON WATTHANASIRICHAIPORN, THAT CAPTURES THE COMBINATION OF DISTINCT STYLES CHUTIPON WATTHANASIRICHAIPORN 5
Mollie & Moore’s products Why did you start your own clothing brand? The fashion industry offers abundant opportunities for small businesses due to its vastness. Currently, people love taking photos, and to look good in these photos, they need fashionable clothing, which could also drive long-term sales. What’s the journey involved in forming and launching the brand? Lacking extensive fashion knowledge, I've focused on research. I strive to partner with shareholders who excel in this domain and share a similar vision. Why did you name the brand "Mollie and Moore"? I aim to design clothing for women who frequent cafes for photo opportunities. Research suggests that the name "Mollie" conveys a sweet style, while "Moore" evokes a sexier image. What’s your brand'sconcept? Targeting women who love photogenic, Instagrammable moments, my line blends sweet and sexy elements to cater to those who appreciate this hybrid style. What distinguishes your brand from the others? The brand stands for good quality and affordability, with a strong focus on brand image. Unlike some competitors whose products may be lower in quality at the same price point, our designs boast uniqueness and distinction. Do you think small businesses can grow in the Thai fashion industry? Growth is achievable for small businesses; the key is to offer uniqueness or align with fashion trends that resonate with consumer needs. Additionally, prioritizing marketing and research is essential. How does social media affect the marketing strategies of Thai fashion brands? Social media greatly influences Thai fashion brands, extending its impact beyond the fashion industry. Brands must create compelling content and choose the right platforms for product exposure. For instance, TikTok targets a demographic that typically spends 300-400 baht. Effective content is crucial for marketing and sales, but products must meet consumer needs to succeed. Do you think Thai people give value to Thai brands as much asinternational brands? Thai consumers often place higher value on international brands because these brands deploy effective marketing strategies, such as engaging influencers and global icons as ambassadors. mollieandmoore 6
BLACKPINK’S JENNIE ATE IN SRETSIS By Chinothai Ho “You & Me” singer and a member of the KPOP group BLACKPINK, Jennie Kim, paved the way for a mix of culture and unconventional style between Thailand and Korea by wearing Thai designs. 7
The BLACKPINK ‘Born Pink World Tour’ in Bangkok was a extraordinary combination of music and fashion. Jennie looked incredible in outfits by the famous Thai designer brand, Sretsis. Nevertheless, this is not the first time that the fashion icon chose to wear Sretsis; she wore the designs from the brand for BLACKPINK’s MV ‘Ice-Cream’ in 2020. This continual decision highlighted the increasing impact of Thai fashion on the world stage, representing a blend of cultures and modern trends. Jennie, famous for her fashion choices, wore a stunning red crop top during her performance of "You & Me" on the first day of the World Tour in the city. The top she had on gave her a sexy and feminine vibe. This piece was chosen specifically from Sretsis's upcoming Spring-Summer 2023 collection, highlighting Jennie's influence as a trendsetter and her talent for showing fashion trends. The next day, Jennie's blue off-shoulder dress from the same collection was transformed into a trendy crop top, keeping the original style but giving it a modern look. Sretsis is a Thai high-end fashion brand that was established in 2002 by the Sukhahuta sisters: Klyduan, Pimdao, and Matina. The brand is beyond high-end fashion and now offers a range of lifestyle products, including a collection for young women, home decor, and a sustainable clothing line. Pimdao sees Sretsis as a brand that represents the unity of the Siamese sisterhood, combining imaginative and artistic designs with traditional Thai elements. Jennie became a fan of the brand, and her continuing to wear Sretsis on stage showcases the brand's designs and the increasing popularity of Thai fashion worldwide. BLACKPINK and Sretsis's collaboration is a mix of Thai culture and global fashion, using both traditional and modern styles to create a style that is unique and stylistic. This had paved ways for other Thai brands to shine on the global stage. 8 SRETSIS.COM Experience the world of Sretsis at Central Embassy (2nd floor), Emporium Department store (1st Floor) , Siam Paragon (1st floor)

DESIGNER-MADE COSTUMES FOR LOVE DESTINY 2 DESIGNER-MADE COSTUMES FOR LOVE DESTINY 2 One aspect that Love Destiny 2 pays close attention to is its costumes. Love Destiny was a massive hit across Asia in 2018, leading many Thais and tourists to dress up in ancient costumes and visit historical sites. Beyond the excellence of its storyline, the return of this beloved drama Love Destiny allows us to discover the fashion of the Ayutthaya era that is challenging to experience today. What makes the drama truly unique is the creation of specially designed Thai textile patterns, crafted by the talented Ajarn Thanit Phumsawai. IF YOU'RE AN AVID FAN OF THAI TRADITIONAL FASHION, CONSIDER ADDING LOVE DESTINY 2 TO YOUR CURRENT QUEUE OF TV SHOWS. The inspiration for all fabrics in the drama comes from the art of the Ayutthaya period. As only a few of original patterned fabrics from the era have survived, Ajarn Thanit embarked on the task of designing new patterns that would seamlessly align with the drama's setting and narrative. These extraordinary fabric patterns are now officially copyrighted under the banner of Phusa Pha Lai Yang. By Nitnicha Laohemwong 13
Sai Sukon pattern Sai Sukon falls into the striped pattern category, featuring flowering vines. In the early Rattanakosin period, the fabric was more exclusive to men. In Love Destiny, however, the striped fabric plays a crucial role in accentuating the female lead attire during the Ayutthaya period, and giving them a distinctive presence. Phut Krong pattern The Phutkrong pattern, on the other hand, belongs to the floral pattern family. It features Thai traditional flowers, spreading across a blue-gray background. What sets it apart is that it has only one layer of conical fabric, which is tied in a reduced flower pattern on a red background, giving it a unique and understated appearance. In Love Destiny 2, these fabrics are more than just garments; they are symbols of Thailand's cultural heritage. Ajarn Thanit Phumsawai's meticulous attention to detail and artistic inspiration from the Ayutthaya period bring these fabrics to life, enriching the series with a sensory journey through time. Next time you want a little eye candy, tune in to Love Destiny 2 and don’t forget to pay special attention to these exquisite fabrics. Ranee Phut Krong pattern fabric wearing Campen 14

WHO MADE YOURCLOTHES ? By Sirikorn Pornsansirikul Thailand boasts one of the most significant textile industries globally, contributing a staggering 7.2 billion US dollars to the country's exports. In 2019, the nation was home to over 4,800 garment manufacturing factories, providing employment to a vast workforce of 460,000 laborers. Thailand has emerged as a crucial manufacturing hub for globally recognized clothing brands such as Adidas, Nike, Under Armour, Victoria’s Secret, and many others. But the far-reaching market impact does not always align with the welfare of these laborers. Overtime, cases of labor exploitation and substandard working conditions of the garment manufacturing industry rise to public attention. WHEN BUYING CLOTHES, PEOPLE OFTEN LOOK FOR BRAND'S NAMES, MATERIAL COMPOSITION, AND THE PRICE. BUT HAS ANYBODY EVER WONDERED WHO WAS THE ONE MAKING YOUR CLOTHING PIECES? 22
In 2022, The Guardian published an article revealing the conditions in a jeans factory in Mae Sot, Tak, which reportedly produced jeans for Tesco’s fast fashion brand, F&F. Laborers were found to be overworked and underpaid, enduring working hours ranging from 15 to 20 hours a day while earning a mere 130 baht as a daily wage. Shockingly, employees claimed that they were coerced by their managers to open bank accounts, surrendering their ATM cards and passwords for the company to manipulate their pay. Migrant workers also reported having their migrant cards confiscated by their managers. Another incident that drew attention during the COVID-19 outbreak in 2021 was the abrupt shutdown of Brilliant Alliance Thai Global (B.A.T.), a lingerie manufacturer supplying global brands, including Victoria’s Secret and Torrid. The shutdown occurred without prior notice or severance payments to their 1,388 employees. In their fight for justice, workers, along with Triumph International of Thailand Labour Union, faced a grueling 13-month battle involving legal proceedings and political campaigning, with some employees even facing criminal charges, all to secure an $8 million severance pay. Despite the promising contributions that international fashion companies claim to make to society, their commitment often falls short when it comes to respecting labor rights and ensuring fair wages. As consumers, we hold a significant responsibility in holding these brands accountable to their ethical standards. The "Who Made My Clothes" movement aims to inspire you to recognize the existence of garment workers. Its primary goal is to enhance transparency within the fashion industry and promote conscientious consumer circles when it comes to garment purchases. By acknowledging and supporting this movement, we can collectively drive positive change in the fashion industry and ensure that the individuals behind our clothes are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. 23
UPCYCLING, SolutionforFashion andEnvironment BY SIRIKORN PORNSANSIRIKUL Upcycling, a promising way to combat landfill problems by transforming and repurposing wasted substances to wearable goods. The fashion industry is currently in the midst of a profound transformation, driven by a growing awareness of environmental concerns and a desire for more sustainable practices. At the forefront of this change is the concept of upcycling, a trend that's redefining the way we think about clothing and our role in reducing fashion's environmental impact. Upcycling involves repurposing old or discarded clothing and materials to create new, unique, and sustainable items. To illustrate, old handkerchiefs can be creatively stitched together to create a bedsheet, that is the basic idea of upcycling. This approach not only reduces the need for new, virgin materials but also fosters a lower carbon footprint in the manufacturing process. Fast fashion has conditioned us to buy, wear, and discard clothing at an alarming rate. Upcycling challenges this culture of overconsumption by encouraging us to treasure our clothing and make it last. At its core, upcycling is about fostering a sustainable mindset. It encourages us to think twice about the resources we consume, the waste we generate, and the impact our choices have on the environment. By making upcycled fashion a part of our daily lives, we can contribute to a more sustainable future and a healthier planet. Consumers nowadays have countless environmentally friendly choices to shop. In recent years, both international and Thai fashion brands have embraced sustainability by introducing new upcycling product lines or even launching entirely new brands dedicated to upcycled fashion choices. An illustrative example is Maddy Hopper, a burgeoning Thai brand that specializes in producing sneakers crafted from 100% recycled materials. An illustrative example is Maddy Hopper, an emerging Thai brand that specializes in producing sneakers crafted from 100% recycled materials. The future of fashion lies in the hands of those who embrace change and creativity. Upcycling is not just a trend; it's a powerful movement that has the potential to reshape the fashion industry for the better. As consumers, we hold the key to driving this change by supporting upcycled fashion, encouraging eco-conscious choices, and celebrating the beauty of sustainable style. By doing so, we can redefine the fashion industry and make it a force for positive change in the world. 24

CATCH OLD MONEY AESTHETIC STYLE: IT IS SUSTAINABLE! By Thanatcha Dorn-in 'Old Money style fashion', a fashion trend that emphasizes simplicity and classics, is another fashion trend that anyone can easily follow and apply with personal style as the looks are simple but attractive with the matching color tone. Moreover you can dress it sustainably! 29
A wardrobe that captures a sense of authentic sophistication is the central focus of the "Old Money Style Fashion" or "Old Money Aesthetic" fashion movement. It recognizes exquisite garments made from priceless materials and distinguished by diligent tailoring, however; it does not mean it has to be expensive. In this story of style, wealth is expressed subtly through design rather than overt shining jewelry. The deliberate lack of over-the-top brand logos allows the elegant and classic design to subtly convey a feeling of wealth while fitting into any occasion. To begin with, “Neutrals” are the way to go when trying to create an old money look. Consider camel, white, gray, beige, and cream color. To create a unified ensemble, use the following colors in your apparel and accessories. For example, put on a cream sweater, beige or camel pants, and a gray or beige coat to complete the look. If necessary, you can also add some accessories, like loafers or a purse in a neutral color. A pair of high-waisted trousers is also a must-have item to finish Old Money looks. Dressing in the Old Money style does not mean pretending to be a millionaire, but it is a fashion trend that focuses on adjusting our personality to look more classy with the style of dress comfy and elegantly from the inside out. Additionally, it greatly increases self-confidence in individuals, particularly for those who prefer to dress simply but elegantly. Looking good doesn't require wearing a lot of clothes. Investing in high-quality pieces instead of fast-fashion is a key to creating both a timeless and wearable closet. Invest in timeless pieces that you can wear for many years rather than trend oriented purchases that will only look good for a short while including wool coats, structured blazers, jeans, and fine cotton shirts as these classic pieces will always be in style and look outstanding year after year. 30
Today, I have compiled a list of the long-lasting transitional looks that will update your wardrobe and earn a spot in your forever collection. You can also apply these items with your personal color and preferences to make the looks—Yours. 3 TRANS- SEASONAL FASHION TO ELEVATE YOUR LOOKS With the rise of fast fashion and current trends, waste and carbon emissions are among the concerns facing the fashion industry. For this reason, trans seasonal clothing should be promoted. Curating pieces that effortlessly transition through every season not only minimizes your environmental footprint but also streamlines your wardrobe essentials. By Thanatcha Dorn-in 31
For many years to come, the knitted polo will be a style standout that you can wear on a regular basis. When paired with modern separates, this timeless knit will elevate denim or trousers and present an instant "put together" look. The secret is to choose a timeless design in an incredibly soft and premium material. For Thai fashion brands, I recommend you to come across Rally Movement Co. and KEEPS to match your style. One of the most crucial foundational pieces for the classic style is a pair of comfortable but elegant pants. Regardless of whether worn with a blouse, t-shirt, or knitwear, tailored trousers are a best pick for the transitional period between fall and winter. Nowadays, cargo pants are sophisticated and refined. The pocket details and cutting pay homage to the utility bases of the silhouette, enhancing the body proportion and shape. Quera is one the most recommended Thai brands to get some of your favorite seamless cutting pants. The joy of denim's debut in the fashion spotlight is its exceptional wearability and longevity, which have created a lot of hype around the fabric in recent seasons. From casual to formal looks, jeans trousers can be paired with an oversized leather jacket and vintage tee, or dress it up with a simple shirt or crop top for a timeless finish look.
