College theses days is a much harder choice than it was back in the 80s and early 90s. In
today’s world hear so many stories about college debt and how most students after college
suffer from it. So this raises up the question of Is it worth going to college? Well, it’s not a yes or
a no and it’s not a maybe, its more on what you want to do for work. Let’s take me as an
example, I want to major in Film so that I can write movies and make them. In this line of work,
you don’t need a college degree but It helps people see that you have experience with this
work. And sure I know I am going to have debt but the work expectancy after school for the film
is high since there isn’t that much interest in the films. And There’s what kills many people “
work expectancy after school”. Many people have trouble finding work after school for many
reasons but one main reason is that there are too many people doing the same thing while there
isn’t enough in other places. Even if you get said job you might not make enough money to start
and you are losing money to taxes and debt. There are many arguments to said about this but
on the other side, we have some pros and cons to going to college.
Pros: Someone with a college a bachelors degree can make more money over a lifetime than
● someone who didn’t go
College can introduce you to new people and skills that live with you
● Companys like to see degrees over people who don’t have them
● Colleges will allow exploring more majors than just yours
● 83% of people with a bachelors degree or higher will make more than someone with
● something lower
Cons:
● 66% of students who borrowed money are in debt
● All students debt together is 1.5 trillion dollars right now
● Many college students get jobs that only need a high school diploma
● 45% percent of students have reportedly not learned anything new
● Some students can develop homesickness and leave in weeks
