Welcome to

Claremore
… an Oklahoma Tradition!

Nestled in the heart of green country and centrally located in
northeast Oklahoma, Claremore is on historic Route 66 and just minutes
away from Tulsa. The hometown of Will Rogers, Claremore was often
included in his witty quotes such as “folks make towns, not numbers”
which rings true for our community today. A small town with charm and
friendly folks.

Our proximity to Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Kansas, Missouri, and
Arkansas make us a perfect choice for your weekend getaway, meeting/
convention, special event, wedding, reunion, or just a place to gather
with family and friends.

Visitors can experience our world class museums, such as the Will
Rogers Memorial or the JM Davis Arms & Historical Museum; dine at
our many local favorite eateries; shop in historic downtown’s 300 plus
antique, boutique, and collectible stores; attend an annual festival or
event; take a cruise on The Mother Road and visit several icons known
for historic Route 66; enjoy the great outdoors at the many surrounding
lakes; or relax in our outstanding hotels.

Traditions run deep in Claremore; traditions that come from some of
our most famous citizens. Patti Page always called Claremore her home.
Will Rogers told the world that one day everyone should have to come
to Claremore. Lynn Riggs’ most famous play Green Grows the Lilacs,
adapted by Rogers and Hammerstein as the musical Oklahoma!, tells of
our love for life in Claremore.
