Selangor TAM SHAH ALAM – SRI SHUBHAKRUTHU NAMA UGADI VEDUKA 2022 DATE: 2nd April 2022 (Saturday) TIME: 7:30pm VENUE: Kuil Sri Mahamariaman Kota Kemuning Shah Alam 2 nd April 2022 was a special day for all Telugus across the globe as it marked the new year for every Telugu based on the Hindu calendar. The new year is often celebrated in a grand manner, and it was not an exception for us the Telugu vaaru in Shah Alam. Unlike the past two years where we celebrated UGADI at home or through online medium, this year we could gather with our kith and kin in temples and rejoice together. This year UGADI brings us to Shubhakruthu Nama Samvatsara, which in ancient scriptures mean that this year will be filled with good deeds and good luck. For us the Telugu vaaru in Shah Alam, under the new line up for Telugu Association Malaysian Shah Alam branch better known as TAMSA, had started planning for the UGADI celebration. A good number of TAMSA Exco and Committee members came forward and devoted their time to ensure that this year's celebration would be a successful one, especially since we were now allowed to have the event on a grand scale. This is in line with the government's directives of moving the status of COVID-19 from pandemic to endemic in our country beginning from 1 st April 2022. Under the tutelage of our new chairman, Sri JS Mohan Rao, and the organizing chairman, Sri Nokarajoo, who is also the vice chairman for TAMSA, a working team was formed to plan and execute this event. Each member has taken part of in shouldering the event responsibilities and successfully delivered their part to ensure the success of the celebration. This year's celebration for UGADI named "SRI SHUBHAKRUTHU NAMA UGADI VEDUKA" was conducted at Kota Kemuning Mariamman temple successfully on Saturday, 2 nd April 2022 with an approximate attendance of 200 people. We began with HOMMAM at 3 p.m. to receive GOD's blessings and it was joined by Sri/Smt JS Mohan Rao, Sri/Smt Somu Pantinaidu, Sri/Smt Jayabalan and Sri Suresh Rao. This was later followed by a special pooja at 7 p.m. and Bhajan by the TAMSA youth team.

The event continued with speeches from the esteemed VVIP guests. One of the key takeaways from the speech is that we Telugu people should come together as a society to help and look out for each other. As there is an ongoing agenda of building a devalayam. the guest speakers urged each and every Telugu to pledge their donation and contribution to help TAMSA and SITARAMA groups in achieving the goal of building the "SRI VAIKUNTA SITARAMA DEVALAYAM" in Shah Alam. This devalayam will not only serve as a temple for devotees, but also as a venue for cultural events, Telugu classes, and a variety of other activities

Selangor TAM SHAH ALAM – MINI MORAL CAMP 2022 DATE: 7th June 2022 – 9th June 2022 TIME: 8:30am to 5:00pm VENUE: TAM Shah Alam Bhavanam After being in the pandemic for the past two years, this year, Telugu Association of Malaysia, Shah Alam branch has organized a mini moral camp (Chiru Neeti Sibiram) which was held for 3 days from 7th June 2022 to 9th June 2022 at our very own TAM Shah Alam Hall (Bhavanam) in Kemuning Utama. Organizing mini moral camp has been a yearly program directive from the TAM Education Bureau since before the pandemic. However, this time around, unlike the usual five days of half-day programme, the camp organising committee of TAM Shah Alam has decided to conduct it in a full-day programme from 8:30a.m. to 5p.m instead over three days. This is so as to considering the feasibility of parents to send and fetch their children from the camp. Under the supervision of TAM Shah Alam Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairman, Sri Ram Babu, a task force which consisted of committee members, women-wing (Mahilas), and parent representatives was created to organize and run the three-day moral camp smoothly. A few representatives from the Malaysia Telugu Vidyardulu (MTV) team were also engaged to volunteer in facilitating activities at the camp. A total of 27 students (17 boys and 10 girls) from TAM Shah Alam and TAM Klang respectively joined this three-day camp programme. The camp participants were divided into two groups whereby the first group was the Madyamika, and the second group was a combination of the Praveshika and Baalvikas. The itinerary of each day starts with students having a nutritious and scrumptious breakfast. This is followed by a lesson on basic Telugu reading and writing of Telugu words (Acchulu, Halulu, Othulu) for the younger students and more in-depth lessons for the older students. Lessons were carried out in both lecture style and also student-centred manner where students present stories and generally converse in Telugu to further improve their verbal skills and strengthen confidence in using Telugu.
