Our Year Ends On a Positive Note

As we entered 2020, we could not
have anticipated what challenges
we and all our communities
would have to face. As a charitable orga-
nization, we did not know what support
we might expect, even from our regular
backers. We were pleasantly surprised to
receive enough response that made our
year end on a positive note.

Huge thanks to all who made our
grants and scholarships possible. We are
grateful and are looking forward to a
better year ahead!

Thank you 2020/21 Corporate Members! Plus. . .$7000 in Service Scholarships for college were
awarded to area students. See page 4.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

LAURIE WILHOIT Final letter...

President It’s hard to believe that I initially planned a two-year term, and
[email protected] now after six rewarding years I’m writing my last president’s letter.
It’s been an honor and a privilege leading this organization and I
847-796-0232 look forward to remaining on the board as Past President. I am so
grateful for the friendships and memories I have made through the
work we do, and the opportunity to connect with all the wonderful
people who’ve supported our organization. The friends, family and
fellow businesses that have helped us serve so many in need in
our community has truly amazed me! We have all grown up a bit,
learned a lot about ourselves and each other, and the passion that
drives us each day. The tough days helped us appreciate the good
ones.

My motto of “I will always be more impressed with what you give,
than what you possess” has never rung more true than this past year.
Your outpouring of support throughout 2020, through sticking with
us as programs evolved during the pandemic and showing continual
kindness made it possible for us to have another successful year. I
hope to see all of you on July 28 when we come together for our
end-of-year celebration.

Caring Women’s Connection, like other small
non-profit organizations, relies solely on volun-
teers to keep it running. We need your help
to fill roles that allow us to meet the needs of
the community. There are small jobs to get
your toes wet and larger commitments such
as co-leading our work streams. If you are
interested in donating your time to helping
plan events, collecting donations, volunteering
to lead activities, or anything at all, please
contact me to discuss.

I look forward to the new CWC leadership
coming in and the wonderful things they will
accomplish. I also look forward to continuing
to serve our community as the newly elected
Ela Township trustee.

Thank you all for your kindness, generosity and
friendship!!
