Use of HARDLOCK Nuts in Water Screening Equipment Casing
CABLE OPERATED BAR SCREEN
Most preliminary level of filtering to remove large objects such as rags, paper, plastics and metals from water which
is used in heating for steam driven thermal power plants. Ground level
Bar screens are vulnerable to large objects which try to pass through the screens. Such violent shocks are absorbed
by the fasteners holding the buckets in place. Regular maintenance is required to prevent nuts from coming loose
and buckets falling off. 10 – 20 bar screens in a plant with approximately 100 buckets per screen requires long
maintenance hours, However regular maintenance is either not possible or too much of an expense.
There have been many cases of buckets falling off due to fasteners coming off, mainly due to Large Aquatic life such Water
as Jellyfish getting inside the buckets. Over 30 Thermal power plants across Japan have incorporated HARDLOCK as
