20 UNDER 40
OUTSTANDING WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION
INTRODUCTION BY:
SABRINA KANNER
Executive Vice President
Design and Construction, U.S. Office Division, Brookfield Property Partners
In recognition of his commitment to the industry, Richard will be awarded artwork titled
“the last bits of Admiral’s Row” by Kristin Texeira, Brooklyn, NY
Kristin Texeira is an NYC-based woman artist exploring memory and documentation with small,
colorful works of oil on paper. Inspired by the 20 Under 40 Women in Construction, the artist begins
her process by writing down and reflecting upon certain moments that inspire her, such as the historic
Admiral’s Row in Brooklyn, and then uses color as a language to translate these stories into paintings.
Her works take the form of what she calls “memory maps,” which attempt to remedy nostalgia and serve
as vessels for viewers to relive certain moments again and again.
