“We empower parents and schools communicate effectively on student performance.”

What is Grademine?

Grademine is a solution that ensures all students receive a rich educational
foundation with appropriate assistance and support. With this intended purpose in
mind, Moran (E.A) Publishers, a leading publishing company is providing a solution
that will enable a closer integration of tutor-student-parent engaging environment.
Grademine is an online digital platform that allows educators to record and store
performance report cards of pupils/ students. These report cards also includevarious
appropriate graphs and charts for effective analysis. Notifications on student grades
are then automatically sent to respective parents via email or short text messaging
service.

Current Situation

‡ Parents/ guardians receive hard copies of report cards.
‡ Parents and teachers have no particular way of accessing past vs present

student performance.
‡ Parents and teachers are not able to improve the performance trend of the

student using data retrieved from their performance.
‡ The Government evaluates and analyses performance of students using only

data derived from National Exams, not past performance.

Solution – Grademine

‡ The service provides text and email based report cards for every student from
date of joining school.

‡ Analysis of student performance is provided using graphs and pie charts to
assist parents and teachers in improving student and school performance.

‡ Students will have additional data to support their National Exam results, for
example when joining college and in search of employment.

Why use Grademine?

Grademine creates a closer integration of tutor-student-parent engaging
environment and individually-focused attention that also eases on man hours spent
in compiling of report cards and transcripts. Real time data and optional cloud
based hosting means an institution won’t need to maintain a server farm to run a
state-of-the-art school management system. Parent and students accessibility to
system notifications inevitably leads to reduction in printing costs and administrative
overheads for schools.

2014 is the year that the infamous V.A.T. on books
was actualized. It hit the market hard, grossly
reducing the buying power of both parents and
schools. It is also the year when book pirates had a
ILHOGGD\'HVSLWHWKHIDFWWKDWSXEOLVKHUVGLGWKHLU
best to deal with the menace, buoyed by a weak
legislation on copyright laws and an ignorant
enforcement agency; the pirates perfected their
art of stealing from the publishers and authors
with impunity.

We endured the intrigues of 2014 and went ahead
to launch very innovative products in the market.

Not only did we develop Kiswahili and English course books to revolutionize learning
and teaching of these languages but we introduced a measurement tool that will help
teachers and parents monitor the performance of students from the day they join pre-
school, all the way to university. Obtaining individual records for future employers will
be a button click away in future. No more lies, no more fake certificates – all information
can be authenticated with simple use of a computer mouse.

This happens to be the year Moran (E.A.) Publishers set foot in Malawi and Zambia. Our
publishing programme for this new frontier is quite elaborate. We are set to change the
face of publishing in these countries to ensure they enjoy the quality Moran has come to
be identified with.

2014 is the year we also introduced our new series of Wall Maps. We invite all who care
to compare our wall maps with any other available in the region.

We are determined to authoritatively take our place as the publisher of choice in the
region. This is both in print and digital materials.

Your reading this message is a privilege to us and we highly appreciate the few minutes
you have spared. We invite you to partner with us as an author, an advisor, a bookseller
or distributor. You will never regret your decision for like the warriors we are named after,
Moran is destined to conquer the future.

We have an elaborate strategic plan launched in January 2015 and we are not looking
back. The content of this catalogue is a proof of that – read on.......!

Yours Sincerely,
