About Us

Huang Dance Studio, founded in January 2012, is a professional school dedicating to
providing a high standard of classical ballet training. Huang Dance Studio was founded
by Mr. JunShuang Huang, a Prix de Lausanne award-winner & former Houston Ballet
Principal Dancer, and Ms. XiaoChen Chen, a former renowned ballerina from Guang-
zhou Ballet Company in China, who both currently serve as principal teachers at Huang
Dance Studio. Huang Dance Studio is located at 9600 Bellaire #120 and features a
renovated state-of-the-art dance studio equipped with specifically designed floor (du-
rable vinyl marley floor).

Huang Dance Studio offers excellence in classical ballet training to the children at age
3.5 and up. Our staff sets high standards for the quality of the training and advancement
in the curriculum to the professional level. Each level is designed for the developmental
needs of the age group. We will guide your child from first steps to advanced technique,
while instilling joy for this timeless art form. Our experienced teachers encourage stu-
dents with diverse backgrounds and interests to study ballet. Ballet is an excellent foun-
dation for various dance. Students who have good ballet training can quickly learn other
dance forms such as jazz, Latin, hip hop, lyrical, and Chinese dance.

We emphasize individual attention, small class size (average 12 students), and strong
classical technique. Our classical Ballet technique classes focus on alignment, style, mu-
sicality, virtuosity, and individual expression. Pointe work might begin when the student
has learned basic technique and when her legs and feet are sufficiently developed with
strength and turnout.

We encourage the development of self-confidence, self-motivation, and self-discipline
in each student to help them strive beyond their own vision of themselves by finding
success in their accomplishments - students who study ballet do develop coordination,
posture, confidence, discipline, musicality, acting skills, and team work. We periodically
host the classes taught by accomplished guest professional ballet dancers/instructors
from Houston Ballet and other professional dancing companies.
Performance is an integral part of training to a professional standard. We provides all
students at different levels with an opportunity to participate in main stage performance
on various public/community events.
Our adult classes offer a basic ballet technique training to every age group, from young
adults to seniors. Adult beginner classes start off at the very first steps of ballet.
Our core values focus on professional integrity, personal growth, and innovative teach-
ing. Our goal is to provide the highest quality ballet training in a fun and motivating
atmosphere.

Mr. Huang, JunShuang -
Director of Huang Dance Studio

Mr. Huang has been received highest award of International Ballet
Competition many years. In 2008, he graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy
– Dance School and honored to begin his professional classical leading dancer at
Guangzhou Ballet in China. He has joined Houston Ballet as a Principal Dancer
in 2010 and performed leading roles in many important works including: Prince
in the Nutcracker, Albrecht in Giselle. Also His repertoire includes ballets such
as Swan Lake, La Bayadère, La Sylphide, Coppélia, Paquita, Le Corsaire, Don
Quixote, and Diana and Actaeon.

Since 2012, He has invited as a guest artist with Queensland Ballet in Australia.

He teaches: Ballet Basic Techniques, Classical Ballet,Repertory, Modern
Ballet & Dance, and Jazz.

Studio. Mrs. Chen gradu-
ated from Shanghai Theatre
Academy - Dance School,
since 2008 she has worked at Guangzhou Ballet in China
as a principal ballerina. She also performed to United States
and European Countries for exchange performances many
years.

She teaches: Ballet Basic Techniques, Classical Ballet

罗璇---主教老师
毕业于北京舞蹈学院,有多年专业授课教育经验,曾
在北京蝉舟瑜伽接受专业瑜伽培训,并多次参加中国
各省市春节晚会编导及指导.

Ms. Luo, Xuan – The Main Teacher of Huang Dance Studio. Ms. Luo graduated
from the Beijing Dance Academy. She is an experienced professional teacher in
China many years. She also accomplished professional yoga training at Chanzhou
Co. in Beijing. She was participated the China Spring Festival as director and
guidance. She teaches: Chinese Dance, Folk Dance, Yoga, Pilates
