Pleasant Poppies Notes & Tote

This cute little tote is filled with six note cards and envelopes…perfect for gift giving or as a project class idea.
Tote Instructions
Step 1
Die cut two of the largest-sized labels using the Labels Collection Framelits from 6” x 6” pieces of Early
Espresso card stock. Lining up the bottom bumps with the cutting line on your Paper Cutter, cut off one point
on each label.

In the same manner, lining up the bottom bumps on the other point of each label, score a line across the
remaining points.

Using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, run each label through the Big Shot, making sure to line up the
edge of the label with the rows of dots to ensure they are straight. Set aside.

Using the Petite Pocket die, cut two pockets from 3-1/2” x 11” pieces of Early Espresso card stock. Lining up
the bottom of the side flaps with the 3-3/4” marking on your Paper Cutter, cut off the curved end of the pocket.
Repeat for the second pocket.

Turn the pocket 180°. Line up the bottom of the side flaps at the 3-1/8” mark on your Paper Cutter. Cut off the
flap of the pocket. Repeat for second pocket.

Using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, run each pocket through the Big Shot, aligning the card stock as
shown in the photo.

Fold all score lines inwards on both pockets and both labels, ensuring the embossed polka dots are on the
outside.

Apply Sticky Strip to the long (un-embossed) flap of one of the pocket die cuts. Aligning the end of the flap of
one pocket with the score line on the other pocket, adhere the two flaps together as shown in photo. This will
create the bottom and sides of the tote.

Apply Sticky Strip to the pointed flaps on each label.

Lay out all pieces as shown in the photo 10a. Adhere each label to the underside of the tote base as shown in
photos 10b and 10c, ensuring bottom edge and score line on the label line up.

Apply Sticky Strip to side flaps of each pocket.

Remove liner from Sticky Strip and adhere one flap at a time to front of tote, using the embossed pattern as a
guide to keep it straight.

Die cut one of the second-largest-sized labels using the Labels Collection Framelits from a 4-1/4” x 5-1/2 piece
of Whisper White card stock. In the same manner as above, line up the bottom bumps on each point with the
cutting line on your Paper Cutter. Cut off both points as shown.

Stamp the Pleasant Poppies background stamp on the trimmed label using Early Espresso ink. Adhere stamped
panel to the front of the tote.

Taking two 9” x ¾” strips of Early Espresso card stock, punch holes using the 1/16” hole punch centered and
approximately ½” in from each end.

Using the same hole punch, punch holes in the front and back panels of the tote as shown. Attach strips to tote
using Tempting Turquoise Glimmer brads.
Step 16

Punch a butterfly from a scrap of Tempting Turquoise card stock using the Elegant Butterfly punch. Emboss
with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and adhere to the front of the tote using a Glue Dot. Embellish
with Rhinestone Basic Jewels as shown.

Card Instructions
Step 1
Stamp the Pleasant Poppies background stamp image in VersaMark ink on a 4-5/8” x 3-1/8” piece of Early
Espresso card stock. Heat emboss using Tempting Turquoise embossing powder. Layer the stamped panel on a
3-1/4” x 4-3/4” piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock.

Step 2
Cut one of the largest-sized banner from the Bitty Banners Framelits dies from a scrap of Tempting Turquoise
card stock. Stamp a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set on a scrap of Whisper White card stock
and punch out using the Word Window punch. Adhere punched sentiment to banner, aligning the edge of the
sentiment piece with the left-hand “V” of the banner. Do not center the sentiment.

Using a Bone Folder, score a line between the end of the sentiment layer and the right-hand “V” of the banner.
Fold points of banner under.

Adhere the banner to the lower right corner of the stamped panel, wrapping the points around the back and
securing with Glue Dots.

Adhere panel to Note Card. Embellish with Rhinestone Basic Jewels as shown in the photo.

Note: Each card in the tote uses the same basic design, but uses different colors and sentiments. For my sample
I did two cards in each of the following colors: Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi. I also
chose various sentiments from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. The supply list includes the supplies I used
for my samples.
