Indian YMCA
The Young men’s Christian Association of India seeks to unite men,
women, youth and children as co-workers with God to promote mutually
caring and loving humane communities.
It worships God by seeking to restore abundant life to all, specially to the
most distressed of humanity.
It strives for a just society where oppression, exploitation and denial of
life will be confronted and abolished.
It believes in the sanctity of life and preservation of all creation.
It stands for renewal and reconcilation in a broken world.
Bombay YMCA
A healthy community begins with the health of its people - in spirit, mind
and body. Through our various programmes and services, the YMCA
strives to enrich the lives of people in all respects. For young and old,
for all walks of life, we are making a difference in our community. But
there is more to be done. We are only at the beginning of what we can
accomplish.

A fairly good start but a road block towards the end ensuring a challenging year ahead. The
year 2019-20 ended with Mumbai locked down from March 23, 2020 due to the COVID19 global
pandemic. We are however immensely thankful to God for leading us throughout the year with our
work and also for providing all our needs at the right time. The Central Branch continued to offer
meaningful programmes and activities for the young and the not so young members. It’s Guest Rooms
& Hostel facilities were also well patronised during the year.
As a new initiative, the Central Branch converted the first floor of the hostel as a Women’s Wing from
February 2020. This floor which has 3 single rooms and one twin sharing room got booked within
no time thus proving that we were now ready to accept women too for a new beginning by now

nearby hospital in order to save more lives.
The road YMCA travelled in the last one decade was
smooth and many people were the source of inspiration
for the happy journey and on this occasion we would like
to remember them here as a gesture of goodwill. This
journey was also made safe by God Almighty whose
blessing were sailing throughout our timeline. Special
